It's not possible to create successive posts, so here's a very long one.
Neither I'm a mastermind nor do I give away a game with that name. I want to try to play a game similar to Mastermind here in this forum and the winner will get a game from his/her wishlist as a gift (up to $/€ 20). You don't have to make your wishlist public, the winner should send me a list of about three games via chat and I select a game (or two, if the prices are low) and send him/her the code. If you have only have game on your wishlist, I'd take that - but there would be no surprise. This Mastermind game will likely run for some days (but it may be over after a few hours).
Only users registered Nov 2015 or earlier are allowed to participate.
If you don't know the game, use wikipedia ("mastermind game", see end of this post). The version played here uses six "holes" (or columns) and eight colors. The colors are: black, blue, green, aqua, red, purple, yellow, white. I select six colors and you have to guess that combination (the colors and their order). You make guesses and I give hints. The first one who post the correct sequence wins (final guess, see below). I'll post the MD5 hash of an *answer sentence* at the end of this post, to verify I'm not cheating.
You have to work together to make a guess. Everyone can suggest one color and when six people have given a suggestion I combine that into a guess, evaluate it and post my answer. That's one round and another is started with the next suggestion after my answer. You are allowed to make a second suggestion within one round only after two other valid suggestions are posted. For obvious reasons it's not allowed to edit posts with suggestions or a final guess. Edited posts will become invalid and will be ignored, but that's all - you still can continue to play, suggest and make a final guess.
A suggestion should contain a single color (black, blue, green, aqua, red, purple, yellow or white) as the first line, followed by a blank line. You can add more text if you like. Remember: No editing allowed. If you want to change someting, replace the text from the old post with a note and create a new post. The old, edited post will be ignored.
When there are six or more valid suggestions I combine the first six in the order posted to form a guess and I will answer it. If there are more than six suggestions, the rest is ignored. I'll tell you how many correct colors are at the correct position (black key pegs, see wikipedia), and how many correct color at the wrong position (white key pegs). See the end of this post for an example. The score "6 black" means everything is correct. If that happens, the first one who posts that solution after my answer will win (remember to use the correct format), but I hope to see some final guesses before that (as a sidenote: "5 black, 1 white" is not possible). You should start the next round with suggestions after my answer.
You can make one final guess anytime you like (after my first answer, see below). If you're right, you win and the game is over. If you're wrong, you can continue to suggest colors and post comments, but you can not make another final guess and you cannot win. I'll answer final guesses when I see them, at least before I evaluate the next guess, and will report your success or failure. Anyone can make a final guess, you don't have to suggest a color or post a comment before, but only one final guess per user!
A final guess should contain six colors, followed by a blank line. You can add more text if you like. You can invalidate your final guess (by editing it) until I answer, but I recommend not to depend on that. I may answer at any time. If I answered your final guess you win or loose, there's no second chance.
Comments are welcome, you can discuss what colors to suggest and so on. Any posts that are neither suggestions nor final guesses are ignored by me. I'm free to accept or reject incorrectly formatted suggestions and final guesses (typing errors, missing blank line, ...). I will answer questions in this thread until I answer the first guess. After my answer to the first guess I will not reply to questions (only answer guesses) until the game is over. I'll ignore all final guesses before my answer to the first guess!
My timezone is UTC+1 and I'm online sometimes between 09:00 (9 am) and 23:00 (11 pm). I plan to evaluate some guesses per day.
If my combination is not found until december 31 (my local time) I'll close this game and select a user with a wrong final guess as a winner using random.org (so there's a small chance to win even if your final guess was wrong).
I have selected six colors, duplicates are possible and at least two colors are not selected. :)
The MD5 hash of my answer sentence is 8BFAA47EB6CA3823CD0D06539071C52F.
The game is open, happy guessing and good luck.

How I will evaluate a guess (THIS IS AN EXAMPLE, THAT ARE NOT VALID COLORS):
My colors:
brown - olive - brown - olive - brown - olive
Your guess (from the first six suggestions):
navy - teal - olive - olive - grey - brown
First, I look for correct colors at the correct position:
brown - olive - brown - olive* - brown - olive
navy - teal - olive - olive* - grey - brown
That gives 1 black pin.
Next I look for correct colors at wrong positions:
brown - olive - brown+ - olive* - brown - olive+
navy - teal - olive+ - olive* - grey - brown+
That gives 2 white pins:
The answer would be: 1 black, 2 white.
