tinyE: He was great in the Saw movies.

Or am I thinking of Costas Mandylor?
No one was great in the Saw movies...

kai2: (even TFA -- crossing the billion mark -- wasn't the size of a "hit" Disney had expected and borrowed against. crazy)

Breja: TFA crossed 2 billion and was in the top 3 highest grossing movies of all time until Avengers Endgame (it's at #4 now). It was only the third movie ever to cross that 2 billion mark. So I don't believe for a second it was in any way a disappointment for Disney. Whatever trouble Disney now has with Star Wars didn't start until The Last Jedi.
Yes, Star Wars The Force Awakens crossed 2 billion, but...

... Diseny expected to beat Avatar (2.7b) a stand alone sci fi... but didn't.

Disney had hoped for (and leveraged against) 3 - 4 billion and to pay off their 4 billion investment (payment to Lucas) in one movie, but that didn't happen. They didn't even come close until mid-way through The Last Jedi... when they were then incurring an additional 2+ billion from Star Wars Galaxy's End amusements.

While The Force Awakens was certainly a resounding success by any normal monetary measure, it was not what Disney had hoped (and what they were using to secure some BIG loans)... and yes, each subsequent return has been worse.

Breja: I have to say, this is probably the Star Wars show I'm least interested in. The Obi-Wan series with McGregor they just announced is definately more exciting to me (as you could probably guess by my avatar), and the Cassian Andor show as well since I really liked Rogue One and I'm absolutely on board with more Star Wars stories like it.
I suspect a number of projects that were in devleopment for the "Star War Stories" movies are going to be switched to Disney Pluc since "Solo" flopping has pretty much killed off the Star Wars Stories films.
More intereinsted in Obi Wan then the Mandalorian series, and more interested in some of the announced Marvel series for Disney Plus.\ then the Star Wars stuff.

In case you have not noticied, Disney Plus is pretty much the highest priority project at Disney right now.

so it's not a movie but an HBO like series with movie cinema quality, interesting. Question here is this takes place after clone wars? so it has to be Boba fet cause jango fet died in 2 or 3 I believe. but I am interested to see how this mini series like show plays out.
Nice, I night actually watch this mov...ah it's a series, screw that.

I'm gonna need a source for that one, because that's utter nonsense unless everyone in Disney is certifiably insane, and I don't mean it as hyperbole.
