I have special feelings for the Atari ST, because that was my first computer, and my first step in the world of video games. I know it was technically inferior compared with the Amiga, although most of the games were not different on both machines, except for the sound part. But it was also cheaper...
I also have sweet memories of the 16-bit consoles (SNES, Mega Drive / Genesis) for the lots of good games on them.
And also the Nintendo 64 for the possibility of playing 3 or 4 players simultaneously on the same screen (Mario Kart, Goldeneye, ...).

Good old times ! ^^

I started my gaming adventure with Commodore 64 and I must say I have found memories of this computer, but what made this machine special was the SID chip. It was the most advanced sound chip available on home computer at in '80. I still remember and hum from time to time themes from games like "Ace of Aces", "Commando", "Super Robin Hood", "The Great Giana Sisters" or "Cybernoid".

I'll stand up for the Colecovision. It was the first gaming console we owned, unless you count the Pong clone we had before it. It fell into obscurity because of the Crash but I didn't know anything about that business crap. I just had a lot of fun playing stuff like Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Pepper II, Montezuma's Revenge, Popeye, Zaxxon, Mouse Trap, Gyruss, Gorf, etc. We also had the Atari 2600 adapter, so I was enjoying a lot of those games on it, too. Yeah, the controllers weren't very comfortable to use but we tolerated them anyway.

I've been a PC gamer most of my life, but I never really had any major attachment to any system. Had a 286 growing up, then 486, then Pentium, then PII, then...well, then became now. Other than that, I had a sega megadrive ii as a kid, but aside from making me understand that Sonic was infinitely better than Mario, again, no real attachment. And a gameboy (that's what helped my parents discover that I had a lazy eye).

I can't really think of any "magic moment" or "magic system" that was special to me. I suppose I could go with my earliest PC memories: Playroom, some Disney/Mickey Mouse game, Prince of Persia, Reader Rabbit, KQV (watching my father play from behind his shoulder), etc. on the 286.

Blargh...now I'm feeling all nostalgic and sad. Thanks :P

I'd like to be in for any of these (in order of preference, if that matters): I have, (un)fortunately, never experienced any gaming system / console / arcade machine other than PC. However, there is something that makes the computer I'm currently typing this on special, and that's the fact that this is the first one that I've assembled myself back in the beginning of 2017. From picking the particular components and monitoring the stores for discounts through actually building it to periodically taking care of all its needs, I've done it all (weeeell, most of it) myself and that's a thing I am somewhat proud of - considering that the majority of my peers doesn't seem to know the difference between an integrated and dedicated GPU.

13. Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition For me it would always be the ZX Spectrum. First video game I ever played was "Dizzy" which started off my love of Platformers / Metroidvania's. I've always been utterly astounded at what could be squeezed into 64-128kb RAM (let alone how stuff like 3D first-person "Castle Master" is even possible). Many happy early school years spent playing Gauntlet, Double Dragon, Outrun, etc, and I still replay some even today via Spectaculator (emulator).

I have fond memories of my old 386 dx. Yeah, it was really slow at the end, but it was enough to play UFO: Enemy Unknown (and I didn't need more). And after upgrading RAM from 2 to 4 MB I could play Mortal Kombat 1 :) At least when I deleted Doom 2 from a disk first, as there was no place for them both. Yet I loved that machine... And that cool Turbo button! ;)

I have mainly played videogames on the PC so there's not much of a choice lol :D. I did play some bootleg atari stuff, SNES and PS1 at other people's places though. They had great stuff that wasn't on PC, like Medievil, Super Mario World or uh Keystone Kapers lol :D
I also played with the soviet handheld with the cartoon wolf catching eggs.

But still, most of my gaming was PC and what made it special was the bleep bloops of PC speaker :D
