I am guessing you mean from the store only, and not our library if we already have them, because mine are still there.

Are you saying that achievements no longer work for these games that had them? Not that I care about achievements, especially for demos and prologues.

Just saying free games/demos = free achievements and t= sometimes.

I am aware of this occurring only the once, and hope that going by our complaints it will never happen again.

Certainly nothing should be removed from our GOG library unless it infringes something or is a risk to us.

A recent example of infringement was with Daggerfall Unity - GOG Cut, where mods were included that shouldn't have been. In that case I guess we also got a removal, but it was immediately replaced with fixed version.

Nope, GOG has clearly stated they'll do it again if the dev asks.

And the Daggerfall case was no infringement.

The modder put his mod under the MIT license which essentially says: "You can do with this whatever you want, including commercial use, as long as you give credit to the author.". In other words, the modder didn't just allow GOG but everyone in the world to use his mod. Since GOG did give proper credit the mod was properly licensed.

The modder was simply being a whiney b**** because others who used a more restrictive license were asked if it was OK to include their mod and he wasn't asked. And GOG was polite enough to give in to his whining. That's all there is to this case.

I don't recall GOG ever saying that specifically, though some members aired that as likely being possible again.

They way I remember it, they said the DEV asked and so they did it.
Whether they will again or not I don't know, but like I said I hope the flack they copped would prevent it happening again ... one can but hope. In any case, it's not common.

That said, we don't need to go over all that again, and certainly not here.

All that matters is GOG behaved like it was an infringement, and rectified things.

And really what I said still stands, whether that particular instance was an infringement or not.
