Terraformers: First Steps on Mars is a free standalone version of Terraformers.

I imagine this means it is a kind of Prologue.

tandem_a_tale_of_shadows_demo is gone so as cris_tales_demo and highrise_city_demo so as holomento_demo along with kathy_rain_directors_cut_demo and norco_demo onde_demo too with out_of_line_demo and saint_kotar_the_yellow_mask and they_always_run_demo 10 off , come back one day

Is there any thread that lists out whether a demo contains unique elements, especially for some demos that had changes/updates

In the past, there were demos that contained scenarios or stories or worlds specifically created for the Demo only. Starcraft Shareware and Daggerfall demos come to mind

Not specifically that I am aware of, though maybe some gamesite listing somewhere.

Someone may mention such in passing in this thread, or more likely in the forum section for that particular game.

The most likely place though would be the developer website. If it has been intentionally made different, then surely they would mention it, and they certainly do sometimes here on the game's sale page.

Changes that occur during development would be more problematic, and unless there is a good reason to mention it, they probably don't want to. Hell, we even had a demo removed from GOG a few months back, because the full game was now substantially different. GOG even had the cheek to remove it from our libraries, which is just not on. I see it akin to attempting to rewrite history. Our libraries should not be tampered with unless it is truly necessary, and a demo doesn't qualify unless it is harmful to our system or contains something illegal.

Yeah, we all saw that fiasco happen up top.

Well was just trying my luck here since the people in this thread are all demo aficionados :D

You could expect all Prologues to be little cakes, almost prequels, and Demos to be demonstrations, slices of big cakes.
I believe all prologues, free chapters, mini-adventures, trials, mini-prequels, promo apps,
are little games really and contain unique elements.
