The gameplay video is the one from E3 earlier this year, there was no new footage shown from the game at TGS like many were expecting. The Last Guardian has certainly been in development for a really long time of approximately 10 years, skipping an entire console generation of the PS3. According to Sony's World wide Studios head Shuhei Yoshida, the only reason it wasn't cancelled was because of the fans since they continued to ask about it for all those years.

TBH my first thought, and it stuck with me through the footage, was I wouldn't want that dog humping my leg.

As for the footage, there is something wrong with the graphics on it. The fur just doesn't look right, nor does the fabric, and it doesn't seem to move naturally (the fabric). Add to that the very annoying lads voice its not great. I know there's not much around for the PS4, but if this is the best they can come up with I will stick to the PS3.

I just had to check that out.

My jaw dropped open a little bit. I would have to buy this on principle.

I want. One good reason to own a PS4 now.

Its not ready for release yet, Hence the glitchy presentation, the lighting seems quite similar to Ico though from what I remember.

So according to that video, it is like ICO, but with the white chick being replaced with a giant dog called "Hilda" or "Gilda" or something?

So I wasn't the only one feeling that way, after all. :)

Good news is that I liked ICO, even replayed it a bit last week on my PS2.

Bad news is that I am not going to buy a console for this game.

The hype machine is really working on this one. The footage is your run-of-the-mill action adventure, with your basic pushing, pulling and jumping puzzles. Nice enough graphics. Somewhat interesting companion. I hope the dog saving the day gimmick doesn't get overused.

All in all, too much hype for what was shown. The strengh of the script, variety of puzzles and pacing of suprises -like the dog catch- will make or break the game.
