immi101: on that note:
I read that 1.9.21 supposedly fixed the longstanding bug that prevented "The Longest Journey" from working in wine.
iirc we had talked about that problem here some time ago
might be time to give the game another try ... :)
JudasIscariot: There's still another bug though :P I read that 1.9.21 supposedly fixed the longstanding bug that prevented "The Longest Journey" from working in wine.

I've updated the Aquanox and Quake 3 Gold summaries. Turns out that the cropped resolution was Compton's fault.

WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=6005
CodeWeavers link: https://www.codeweavers.com/compatibility/crossover/painkiller-overdose
Distro: Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon 64-bit
Kernel version: 4.4.0-45
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 750Ti
Graphics driver & version: Proprietary 370.28
Wine version(s) tested: Wine Staging 1.9.20 via PlayOnLinux, CrossOver 15.3.1
Install notes: Requires d3dx9_35 (install DirectX 9 Modern in CrossOver) - *might* not be necessary as of Wine 1.9.21 (see vanchann's report) but 1.9.21 was not available via PlayOnLinux when I tested this.
If using CrossOver use a Win7 bottle, otherwise it refuses to run with the error: "Painkiller Overdose requires at least Service Pack 2." (this also happens with regular Wine but not Wine Staging)
If using PlayOnLinux, run the game from/create a shortcut for "Overdose.exe"
How well does it run: Perfect
Details: Have only tested for a very short time but it seems to run perfectly. Tested with virtual desktop and CSMT enabled.

Waiting for reports on Crysis. Does CSMT have any remarkable effect on performance? Graphical glitches with or without it? How is it with glsl disabled?

Crysis seems to mostly run well with CSMT but there's some glitching with water effects (flickering etc). Setting r_HDRRendering=0 fixes the flickering but introduces some other issues & ugliness with the water effects instead.

Well great. I just got around to testing it and water is glitched with or without CSMT. I can't tell if there's any remarkable difference in performance. Any idea how to show framerate in the island GPU benchmark?
