I have it working but still can't reproduce how I got it to work. I have this one .wine under PoL that I normally test to see if a game will work when I can't get it to work in its own prefix, and normally just add crap until I make it work or give up. And Interstate 82 is one of those games, so no clue what is installed (almost all of the winetricks is installed)

kusumahendra: Can you help me troubleshoot Clive baker undying? I really want to play the game. I install it using playonlinux, and the game can run. But I get this sound overlap, like 2 tracks played at the same time. It seems like the game runs too fast
I tried looking for solution, and it seems people on windows solved this problem by forcing vsync and set affinity to 1. I wonder if there is a way to fix this on wine?
[Edit]
Should've included it
I used wine 1.7.55 and 1.9.11, on Ubuntu mate 16.04 64 bit
to set cpu affinity to cpu #1: I tried looking for solution, and it seems people on windows solved this problem by forcing vsync and set affinity to 1. I wonder if there is a way to fix this on wine?

Thanks for all your reply.
Apparently this problem is caused by the game running too fast. Since it use a frame as a trigger to play sound, the second sound is played faster that it should be thus the overlapping sound problem.
I manage to get a stable framerate and fix the issue by using 3DFX / Glide driver. This game come with 3dfx and direct3d driver. The 3dfx works with stable framerate, while direct3d run faster than necessary. Downside of 3dfx driver is it doesn't support widescreen resolution so I'm playing 1024x768 stretch to 1366x768. If I change it to widescreen resolution the game will complain about unknown resolution. Not perfect, but also not too bad.
Widescreen is only supported on direct3d driver, but it resulted in too fast framerate and I can't find anyway to cap it. Setting affinity, using game setting to vsync or nvidia control panel doesn't do a thing. So I guess I just have to live with 3dfx driver. Fortunately it doesn't look too bad. The graphic only stretch sideways a little bit, making people/things a bit thicker. Other that that, everything works nicely.

Then copy the following files from c:\windows\system32 to Undying's System directory (replacing the existing ones):
glide.dll
glide2x.dll
glide3x.dll
nglide_config.exe
Also download Drennan's Undying widescreen fix 1.01 from https://db.tt/aaOYB4tC (as posted here: https://www.gog.com/forum/clive_barkers_undying/widescreen_working_correctly/post36 ) and extract it into the game's System directory, overwriting the existing files.
Have only briefly checked it but it seems to run ok

Game: Clive Barker's Undying
Installer MD5: a011bd14ab64a2f31ba7e1ff890060ff setup_clive_barkers_undying_1.1_hotfix_(22471).exe
WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=858
Distro: Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon 64-bit
Kernel version: 4.15.0-42
Graphics card: AMD RX 480 8GB
Graphics driver & version: Open source, with Mesa 18.2.4 from Padoka's stable Mesa PPA
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 3.0
Install notes: For widescreen support download Drennan's Undying widescreen fix 1.01 from http://ge.tt/7HcAzPj2 (as posted here: https://www.gog.com/forum/clive_barkers_undying/widescreen_working_correctly/post36) and extract it into the game's System directory, overwriting the existing files.
Start the game from "Undying.exe"
How well does it run: Perfect
Details: Have played for quite some time, runs perfectly as far as I can tell. This messes with the display brightness & fails to return it to normal on exit; just use xgamma after playing to correct it.
Wine wrapper
I have put together a Linux Wine wrapper for this game. For more information, see the release thread in the game's forum: https://www.gog.com/forum/clive_barkers_undying/undying_for_linux

Wine version(s) tested: Wine Staging 1.9.16 via PlayOnLinux, CrossOver 15.2.0
Install notes: Install & play.
If using PlayOnLinux, run the game from/create a shortcut for "RedFaction.exe"
I recommend installing PureFaction & addon as detailed here for widescreen support: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/red-faction
If using that, run the game from/create a shortcut for "PFLauncher.exe" (if using CrossOver a "Pure Faction Launcher" shortcut will automatically be placed in the system's menu)
How well does it run: Perfect
Details: Played through the tutorial & beginning of the game, no problems. Tested with virtual desktop and CSMT enabled.

You may want to use the widescreen fixer from http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/652-red-faction-2-widescreen-fixer/ for better widescreen support (if using CrossOver you will also need to install Wine Mono) - launch & enable that before running the game, then press Tab (or whatever you set as the shortcut key) while ingame to activate it.

rampancy: Almost all winetricks are installed in that PoL prefix? Could you at least remember some of what you added when you installed Interstate '82?
Does it matter? Unable to replicate it. Must still be missing something. Dependency Walker or WINEDEBUG=+loaddll might give some clues.
