immi101: what gstreamer plugins do you have installed ? iirc gstreamer has wmv support via the gst-libav plugin, but might also be in gst-bad or gst-ugly package.
another thing to try: try install lavfilters via winetricks
Oh, I see I'm missing 32-bit gstreamer1.0-libav. Testing it now.

UPDATE: yep, that was it. Thanks for the hint! The game is working now.

ProtonDB Link: Dorfromantik
Installer MD5:

72f60155920e69c71a428a756821445d setup_dorfromantik_0.1_(64bit)_(45830).exe

Distro: Linux Mint 19.3 "Tricia" | Cinnamon | 64-bit
Kernel: 5.4.0-65-generic
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTX 670
CPU: Intel i7-3930K @ 3.20GHz × 6
Wine Versions: Wine Staging 6.1 / Proton 5.9 GE

Install Notes:
64-bit wine prefix.
No winetricks required.

How does it run:
1) Played about 3 hours without gameplay or graphical issues.
2) Wine Staging 6.1 loses mouse after alt-tabbing or mouse leaving game window -- cannot relock, requires reload. This issue is not present with Proton.

Details:
The mouse lock issue for Wine Staging 6.1 can be managed by going into winecfg under the Graphics tab and checking "Automatically capture the mouse in full-screen windows", but if you need to be able to alt-tab out, then using Proton is preferable.

Game: Siege of Avalon: Anthology
Version: 1.0
Installer MD5: 09679acf885bdb40dbb27296a682e69e setup_siege_of_avalon_anthology_1.0_(46183).exe

Distro: Linux Mint 20.1 | Cinnamon | 64-bit
Kernel version: 5.8.0-48-generic x86_64
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 460.39 / Intel UHD Graphics
Wine version(s) tested: Wine 6.3-staging
WineHQ AppDB link: no entry for this game

Install notes: Installs correctly.
How well does it run: Does not work. Initial pop-up appears (video settings, fullscreen/window mode, language selection). There seems to be display issues with the window (violet font and weird gradient as a background). Next the game's window opens – it's white and turns black. No sound, no further reaction for any input.
Details: I'm using PlayOnLinux (without their predefined scripts). I've tested 32 and 64-bit installations, various Windows versions and tried to add some libraries, with no effect.

Does you tested with DXVK? It supports mostly DX10.

Yes, exactly the same result with DXVK_173 installed.

Thank you for taking time to check.
Hello, I got Shadow Man Remastered running on my Mint 20 perfectly. But one thing just didn't work: when climbing I can't move sideways. I've looked around and found some walkthroughs on windows where people don't have this problem. Can someone test if it is a bug on wine or in the game itself?

UPDATE: I've found that if after I keep the middle mouse button pressed and move the camera around and return to normal position the sideways movement finally works.

Kernel: 5.4.0-65-generic
Graphics: NVidia GeForce GTX 670
CPU: Intel i7-3930K @ 3.20GHz × 6
Wine Versions: lutris-5.7-11-x86_64 / Proton-5.9-GE-5-ST

Install Notes:
• 64-bit wine prefix.
• No winetricks required.
• DXVK Enabled
• Restricted to Single-Core

How does it run:
1) Played about 10 hours so far without gameplay or graphical issues.
2) Without setting it to run single-core, I encountered a good amount of stuttering/fast-forward catch-up.
3) Running in single-core is just a little laggy on my test machine, but this machine's from 2013 so your mileage may vary.

Details:
1) Either Lutris or Proton seem to work well
2) Full Screen (default) flickers to a white screen on startup -- switching desktops and then back corrects the issue. Switching to windowed mode fixes the problem.
3a) The game really should be played with a controller. It doesn't support DirectInput, so I used ds4drv with the following options to emulate an Xbox controller from my DualShock 4:
ds4drv --hidraw --emulate-xpad
3b) Alternately, if you're using Lutris, setting a proper SDL2 mapping may also work, as the controller was recognized with Lutris, but the mapping was wrong.

So I tried the latest release of Cyberpunk 2077 with Wine + vkd3d-proton and I get an audio crackling issue. Did anyone experience it and are there any workarounds?

Did anyone try running the Witcher 2 in recent Wine? I know it has the native version but I wanted to compare performance. It simply crashes on startup for me.

Haven't tested but Lutris has a script to run Witcher 2. Maybe looking there you can get a clue.

Thanks, that was useful - installing d3dcompiler_47 with winetrcks helped it!
I've heard good things about Horizon Zero Dawn, but unfortunately there isn't a Linux version for it. Does it work well with e.g. Wine+DXVK? I'm seeing mixed reports online, and mostly not good ones.

There's a slowdown issue on some CPUs, so if your machine's affected you'd need to get hold of a Proton variant that includes a workaround: links in my post at https://www.gog.com/forum/horizon_zero_dawn_complete_edition/two_questions/post5

Under said variant, on my machine it runs very nicely.

As far as I know gamepad input is still unavailable (apparently it uses some WinStore-related API instead of Xinput, or something like that).

How well does it run: It works well out of the box. The only problem are controls (designed for French keyboard), but it works exactly the same under Windows.
