The game might not run as perfect as I thought, at least for me. Looking at this Let's play I'm quite sure the card puzzle did not have an audio explanation during my play. I don't know if that's a problem with the GOG version or with Wine, though. And there are also the dictaphone and the radio where I'm not sure if they are supposed to play audio messages.

I got the audio explanation of the card game and the radio and dictaphone play their messages just fine for me on WINE.eiii

Maybe that's the problem then. But I thought Wine does not require PulseAudio (yet), especially as everything else which is audio related worked so far.
Any hints from somebody else who knows more about Wine and audio?
Other than to install PulseAudio... ;P

eiii: I'll need a new PC to play that game anyway. But it looks like I can start to think about what hardware to get. :) Thanks!
shmerl: I'm planning an upgrade too. AMD Ryzen 1700X looks really good. And for GPU I already have RX 480 (Vega can be nice, but it's not out yet in any normal form). I'm also using an RX480 in my Ryzen system, still unsure if I'll stick with AMD for my next GPU though. There are still some driver issues remaining, but this probably won't be for long with the rate they're improving... so it really depends on what RX Vega is like.

WineHQ AppDB link: https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=16323
CodeWeavers link : n/a
Distro: Mac OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
Kernel version: Darwin 15.6.0 (Build 15G1510)
Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics 5000
Graphics driver & version: OS Default
Wine version(s) tested: wine-staging 2.10 (via Wineskin)
Install notes: None
How well does it run: Almost perfectly (So far). I have played the game for about 4-5 hours, including saving and loading games with no problems.
Details: The game works almost flawlessly out of the box. The game does seem to hang when exiting, but this can be easily solved by simply quitting the app itself. The game also runs very well even on a GMA 950-equipped MacBook running 10.7.
The WineHQ AppDB is for the original freeware release of the game. Information and user reports on running the newer, updated Black Edition can be found here:

The unofficial multiplayer patch does work (necessary for AI skirmishes and CTF modes), but since it uses the original retail .EXE, you will need to apply a no-cd patch to the game if you decide to use it.

shmerl: Is there some hardware thread here? I don't want to go too much into off-topic, but I'd be interested in some discussion about Ryzen and etc.
How about the Ryzen thread I linked to last time? Klumpen0815: Game: Tender Loving Care

Nope. I don't use PulseAudio and never have missing audio from the lack of it in any other Wine games. If you want hints how about: system info (I certainly don't recall what you are running), specific Wine build used and post all terminal output (run via terminal & use paste type site). That may shed some light on it. I suspect you may be missing some needed system libs. Default terminal output may help. You could also check how the audio files are encoded.
