My last dog, Bonnie, helped me through some tough times and personal losses so when she passed in June it left a big hole in my life, a hole that I'm sure Valentina will fill.

First, congratulations on getting a new dog. I hope you will have a great time with her and make lots of good memories together.
Second, regarding Bonnie you sould never forget the old saying: "It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.". Even if she is not here with you any more she will always be in your heart.

I wish I had the means to take care of a dog. Never had one and would like a loyal companion to love. Cheers to both Valentina and Bonnie and the memories you have with them.

I'm happy for you. A little companionship goes a long ways and dogs in my experience are the best listeners. I had a Black Labrador named Chad when I was growing up. All he wanted was to spend time with people. If we left him alone he would climb our fence and walk down to the nursing home and spend the day there. The old folks loved him. Looking back it makes me feel guilty because it meant at least some of the time, he was lonely.

Valentina is finally home. She's a little skittish at the moment, which is understandable as it is a big change for her but she will be fine once she has settled in.

Cheers for the pics, must admit I'm a bit envious, Valentina is a beauty! And with the yard you have, she'll feel at home in no time.
