babark: I'm not sure I follow that logic. Hollow Knight is not retro in any sense (unless you consider being 2D retro?), and the other games like Dead Cells and Dusk might have a bit of a call to a retro aesthetic (not that any of them could realistically have been made back then), but why does that mean they should be worth less? The amount of content and enjoyment in a game like Hollow Knight or Dead Cells makes them well worth the base price they have.
Of course, game pricing on a whole is sort of broken, and I personally almost never buy games not on deals.
Still, in terms of UNFAIR expense, I'm a bit annoyed at Morrowind's price. I don't mind the base price of $20, again, it is well worth that, but it's never more than 66% off here, and I've seen it regularly at 75% on sales on steam (and even cheaper on steam reseller sites).
My bad. I never meant they are worth less, on the contrary! I am simply jealous of other distributors' discounts, that's all!
Since GOG slowly abolished ALL good-old-policies of old (minus the central, DRM-Free main "attraction"), i find it almost mandatory, to compare and contrast. Games no longer come with bells and whistles, here; even EXTRAS have mostly been forgotten (am still waiting for Fallout classic collection to bring theirs back!).
I used to regularly buy games FULL PRICE, in the past (and sometimes, on really special occasions, still do). But that was when there had been value for money, round these parts. It's not that i am nagging; simply lacking "initiative", that's all.
Those "new" games, are as great as they come! But after store "renovations", i started buying strategically... And waiting for "proper" discounts.
