Sachys: cheers! - about 30+ hours work on a 6000px wide canvas - a shame it has to display on the web...

stg83: Thats a shame, hopefully someday you'll have an awesome gallery show for your artwork on display so everyone can really appreciate all the intricacies of it. :)
I would say its more likely i'll have an awesome corpse on show that looks like the sword-seat from game of thrones from wannabe clients stabbing me in my back to use it! ;)
Heheh!

(i'm pretty sure all the web-makers and graphixers know what im on about!)

:)

foxworks: Wow, there's seems to be quite a bit of detail that is certainly lost viewing it online :/
yeah - but thats the main purpose of it.
I paint in ridiculous size because of two things:

1: whenever i work, I understand theres a chance it will be change media in the future - whose to say a game or a film wont be made from Our Fair City at some point (for instance)
2: it's actually much easier to get a good detail level for smaller viewing that way on a 1366x768 laptop screen - i dont have to zoom in to pixel hell to make that one tiny stroke of the brush look right - i can zoom a bit and SWEEP! I cant think of a coding metaphor for it though.

Yeah, I read your post on one of IAmSinistars thread, and it is really tough for the graphix artists that don't get their fair share like other contributors on a project. I still hope the best for you though to get the deserved compensation for all the hard work that you put in from sensible clients. :)

aye. same.
though i did learn a thing or two from my dad: "never work for a man ye cannae beat the livin shite oota oan payday if he comes short!"

and in all reality (even as a metaphor for legal contracts etc) it makes perfect sense.

...though in his case it was a literal experience! heheh! O____O!

That is pretty sage advise which unfortunately you had to apply to your situation. But, it could get you in trouble with the law as well if you go too far following it. ;)

nah, like i said - apply it as a metaphor and it fits all things. but as a factory grunt, merchant seaman (back in his day they'd all do some cash in hand dock work when in port) and former army engineer... makes sense as a literal thing then (though on the latter of those occupations he had a different version).

Reminds me of a scene from the Sopranos where Paulie and someone else go to a new Starbucks, or Juice bar not sure, and try to extort protection money from them. The clerk was like 'have to ask my regional manager that' and realized that you just can't go into a store these days and do what you used to, everything is corporated out the ying yang

pretty much - or a lot of stuff at least, yeah. the lawyers are the "hired swords" of the modern battlefields - which are th courts and the seedy boardrooms.

of course... ive yet to meet a lawyer who thinks having a broken jaw is a good time (maybe one or two who like Stooners kinda parties) and considering how many crooked lawyers are out there... its worth remembering i think! ;)

How frustrating. Picked up Carmageddon 2 when the Summer sale started at $4.99. (50% off) I just got out of the shower, and noticed that the same game is coming up for a flash discount! I was too early and impatient. :(

I'm sure it's well worth the money though.
