Only with small ships - a version of newtonian physics has been added, so you need more thrust than mass to lift off...

unless you build your docks on the corners (planets are basically D12s) - at which point the intersection of gravity bewteeen plates is null.

how..can..you.. not..like..sandbox..... those are the best games! run amok and destroy everyone and everything, or do quests or figure out the meaning of life, the universe, everything. linear games are for mice ;)

Well, it's not that I don't like them, it's that:
1. I'm not a very creative person outside of word stuff.
2. I like a feeling of satisfaction/completion from my games.
3. There's not enough puzzly stuff.
4. I try to avoid the soul-sucking games where I'll spend some hundreds of hours and get no sense of achievement out of it. I already learned my lesson on that with a few MMOs that eventually just died out altogether just as I was getting good at them. The euphemism himself told us he spent a Sachysing 400 hours on it.

Until Early access finishes, the FULL game is free (via the demo). You only need to buy it right now for:
A: cheaper price than release
B: persistent online profile

You can play singleplayer as much as you want (and this year there a lot more of that happening - ie a proper experience. So far they've simply been laying foundation mechanics - and they can be pretty deep.
As sandboxes go, its survival... and not too easy until you learn some stuff... even then... in the meantime... SPACE LEGO!
