So after 400+ hours on Starmade*, I finally plunged into trying a multiplayer game once more...and so far it was good - no wankers on the server so far... and... um... I built the beginnings of a Hermit Cave if anybody wants to join the Space Hermits...

*Full game is free during early access - both on the site and steam - just download the "demo". Other than the client (as it has multiplayer functionality), no DRM that I know of! You do need to buy it to keep a persistent online profile though.

god, i'm such an mmo whore, I probably will, as long as the game seems interesting enough. I see your pics all the time, but still don't quite understand (from the pics) what it's all about.

yup - though I think unless you buy it, you'll have to restart each time you load an online game... but... I started a faction, so as long as we hookup online at the same time, I can leave you some storage room you can access at least.

it was in the lower tier of the "Humble Weekly Bundle: The Return of Space Boy!" back in march or summat, and due to a lot of people not understanding the steam thing was mainly for persistent online profiles, they got bugged about "drm". Should be plenty of keys still kicking about. Will open a thread for it if enough interest.

Suggest you give the singleplayer a go and get used to the mechanics for at least a few hours first (there IS a learning curve - and then sudeenly it makes sense!
Also check the steam / game site forums for beginner guides. I can teach you the rest.
...or at least I'd hope so after so much time on the game.
Sadly theres not really much in the way of AI / npcs as yet, but they're coming this year.

CAN build fully automated AI turret death rigs though!

Edit for the reply: LOL death turrets are teh best kind of turrets. and a ship like that would be so funny and aerodynamically awesome. although space, so screw it, I just can't land on a planet.
