Don't you "youngin" me, dino girl. Unlike what you'd expect, I am a cultured person with good taste. I was joking about the 3 hour thing. The Kinks are my second favorite band after the Beatles. I was actually assuming people here didn't know of the band (most people I've talked to haven't, for some inexplicable reason).
What's your favorite album? I personally lead towards Muswell Hillbillies despite the departure from their usual style, but Misfits is pretty good, too.

Really though, the only reason the Beatles wins out is because they made more songs. Even if you don't think you like the Beatles, there was such a wide variety of music they made that you can find at least ONE song you'd enjoy, no matter what. Otherwise, I'd hand it to the Kinks.

I don't really deny that. It's not like I'm listening to "rare" music (I never claimed to be!), you guys have all probably grown up with it. I'm technically the most "mainstream" listener of all seeing as my musicians of choice are straight out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
You can't deny they're good bands, though. If you're trying to say the Beatles/Kinks are poor taste, I know about a few hundred thousand people who'd disagree with you, one of them with a flamethrower and rabbit ears.

Oh, I get your point now, it's not really "cultured" music. Well, it's not the extent of my tastes. I'm a big fan of classical as well as various folk songs from around the world. If you like, I could make you some recommendations, if you tell me your tastes as far as tempo/mood/etc.

Y'know, I never claimed to be listening to cultured music anyways. I just said I was a cultured PERSON. With good taste. The former you'll have to take my word for (or ignore my egotism on, because it's probably mainly that), the latter I can prove by the fact I avoided the Bad Chimp Lite and Foxworks' cheese stash.
