And I am reminded of the "The Rite of Spring" segment of Disney's Fantasia. Like this was the missing sequences to that segment.

Got called in for an extra shift at work tonight, but I was meaning to ask you fellow hermits - are any of you Rush fans? If so, is it better to start working towards collecting their catalog with "Fly By Night" and go chronologically, or just get albums based on what seems to appeal to me?

I was eyeing up Grace Under Pressure or A Farewell to Kings. I am strongly familiar with 2112, I used to jam it every day.

If it helps, I'm less interested with radio hits and more interested in learning from them, because imho they're hellaciously good teachers.

I'll ask my mate Yog tomorrow - not sure if he's a fan himself, but he will know the answer!

Just remembered my mate dom is a huge fan actually - not sure how easy itll be to get ahold of him though as he works for a TV studio in London these days, but will see what I can do - he's also a guitarist, so likely have good advice from that angle.

Any help will do. I will eventually own the catalog, it's just a matter of going about it.

I recall that Rush albums were very much albums, not just radio hits. The music flowed from one song into the next. I'd think from a guitar perspective, you might be better served starting from the beginning and going forward and that way you could follow the evolution of the techniques as well.
