Well, I think I've given up on modding up skyrim. its a total mess!

I never had major issues with it except with one lighting mod that went apeshit (but that was easily fixed with removing it). Do you use too many mods or rather too many conflicting mods?

its more a case of finding a mod worth bothering with - far too many pervy mods, badly described mods, mods that require X,Y,Z installed etc for me to begin to want to wade through to find anything good..

and also having found a mod that seemed worth trying (just some basic NPC and armour variants) - my game is now stuck running at 125% normal speed. O_______o

sounds are playing at the right speed, but all movement is just a little too fast and its making me damn giddy! no autopatch or anything in the mod either so I've no idea whats happened - even running ti on max seems to do nothing (except heat up my laptop of course).

at any rate, its just put me off bothering now.


Edit: and I've checked - it wasn't hitting CTRL + PRT SCR that did it either

I found a small collection of mods last year and got them all working together. I haven't touched the mod side of things since. I'm enjoying the game still. I might play a few hours a month.

The gameplay changes overhaul smithing and enchanting, rebalance magic and amulets, add choice to quests, and spice up combat a little bit - make blocking more of a timing thing.

aye - have the unofficial patches of course, and went against sky UI this time (as im using a controller for this playthrough - for partially to help keep laptop heating down by not having my hand on the keyboard, but also because I'm badly arthritic, and some games just give me pain).

I looked at the alternate start mod, but was already a few hours in to a playthrough, so skipped it.

most of the others you list arent really what I was looking for (having completed the game several times, i'm after a "fresh" playthrough / stuff to make it feel fresh. as i;m about eight hours in now, its primarily cosmetic stuff so i dont have to restart.

managed to tone down the speed up - by setting decals to off. O____o
still there - but not as bad!
