Probably about the same here, we were using a rather unreliable 3 to 4 MB broadband connection before switching to DSL, probably 3 or 4 years ago now. It's a long story, speeds were quite inconsistent, didn't really get the speed we were promised, etc. Our current DSL connection may be slower, but it sure is more reliable.

Yeah, I think the old telephone line system is not capable of really handling a 4 MB connection on the same line so probably that is why it was inconsistent. I also have some problems with the 2 MB one but it usually gets fixed soon and mostly more reliable. I hope fiber to home becomes more easily available and cheaper around the rest of the world soon like in Korea. :)

Anyways, started around 25 minutes ago, the download is now at 26%.... coming slowly, but hey, at least I don't have to worry too much about the connection dropping out on me. :/

Best thing with these type of connections is to just forget about it for a while and then be pleasantly surprised when its finished downloading. I have wasted many hours staring at that progress bar on downloads before and like the clock in school it just seems to take forever to move. :P
