Gotta pick up another guitar cable soon, maybe today.

The tool I use to play/record guitar via my laptop is a cheap little thing called a Lightsnake cable, basically one end is a jack in and the other is a usb. Well recently the jack came loose and no amount of jimmying it has got it working reliably, lucky the Lightnsake has an attached input jack, so I can just run a guitar cable into it and it'll work A-okay.

In other music news, I'm having a devil of a time getting a couple of attack effect plugins working correctly. The rotten little things don't want to work at all, and they're the only affordable/free Attack effects I've found that rely on a signal rather than MIDI input. I want my 90s ethereal rock trance-y "I can't believe a guitar made that sound" sound, dangit!

Any samples of stuff you've done? I've been using cakewalk sonar for ages (now using x3 producer) and used to do it really seriously, as I had interest in pursuing a music career (as a hard rock/metal singer). If you want a cheap interface, the m-audoi fast track is pretty good for audio.

Will be doing the draw tomorrow now - still totally bushed, but now because I spent two days awake painting for a
client.

Congrats on the TBBBBOB anniversary :) Two day straight painting marathon is quite an impressive feat hope your client likes it when it's done and you get to sleep for a day to make up for lost time.

Great tunes! Are you still active, at least noodling around on your own with the little red light on?

I've got a couple of albums up at pressler.bandcamp.com though they're not the style of music that I'm working on at the moment. I'm working towards an early/mid 90s ethereal rock sound, like This Ascension, (early) Switchblade Symphony, Claire Voyant, Daniel Ash solo (from the Foolish Thing Desire period) etc.

I'll look into that interface, thanks for the recommendation! The Lightsnake is decent for what it is, but it's pretty much only good for demos, so I've been wandering into the depths of real interfaces.

Of course not, what kind of person do you take me for?!

I'd love a sub Cave titled the Crafty Hermit where we can all post our various links to that which we do arts and crafty wise. What does the rest of the cave think?

That type of subforum is a constant on every forum I've ever been a part of, so yep, I'd love to see it make an appearance here, even if it's just a thread.

I'd give it another shot given that GOG is now bigger and the hermit cave is not just still rocking after a year but is the best conversation thread on GOG I've seen.
