To people of the UK who do you consider the best Monarch of your nation? Specifically Kings/Queens from the beginning of the Kingdom to before the end of the Renissance.

any dead one is a good one for many!

Edit: and for an actual response you might want to consider which kingdom you're on about and what exactly you mean by the "beginning" of it

I know many Euro nations had monarchs. I am just specifically talking about the Medieval Era and in the UK.

(Though I like to know Spain's history, they always are underrepresented in Euro history)

There's your problem. There wasn't a UK in the Medieval Era.

yeah, but you stated "from the beginning of the kingdom" - im asking which one and what you mean by "beginning" - ie invasion, conquering, acceptance by the populace, formal declarations etc
history of the UK is far too complex not to consider those factors.

Edit: to clarify - can you be a bit more specific? TA! ;D

So lets say after 1100 AD (though technically still not an accurate date - a better start).

Right, well I'll have a think on that - but are you specifically after "English" monarchs, monarchs that headed kingdoms now in the UK, or all Monarchs in the lands that now make up the UK (including of course Imperial Monarchial rule and non-monarchial rule such as seens around the War of the Roses?).

- Pedantic yes, but my answer to your base question is likely to be more a case of who I find most interesting anyway (rather than "the best" as I'm not a monarchy supporter on the whole), I just want to give you the most direct response to your needs bud!

Momo1991: Is this the Hermitage? Ooops, got lost AGAIN!

But seriously, have managed to cross off another three states - four to go for my 100% achievement :-) Plus cheese curds are strangely addictive.

~I'll just leave that weird confluence of comments laying there for the archeologists to find~

Braussie: Cheese Curds... You must be in Wisconson :) That's just over the border from here in MN. HOpe you're having fun!
I was ALL over MN :-p Crossed off seeing the Jolly Green Giant in Blue Earth - I kid you not... :-p

That's funny. I went to High School in Blue Earth... Did you know, in the winter time, they put a giant scarf on him? It's red, and supposed to keep him warm, despite his leaf-atard, and tights, lol... I'm assuming you also checked out the Mall of America in Bloomington. Locals generally don't go to the mall, except to eat and watch movies (unless you're a teen, going on a date, or under 21).

He is NOT anatomically correct but I imagine he still gets cold :-p

~revised to remove the NSFW commentary - just cause :-) ~

We skipped the MoA due to having Gus with us - pretty sure dogs aren't allowed. Instead we did the River Road on the WI side...
Happy belated anniversary, fellow hermits.
happy anniversary to the cave and all of hermits :)
What do you guys consider to be the best Star Trek TOS episode?
