Sachys: Well, still didnt get a new hd (no sleep and town is a fair walk).

Feel more confident about replacing it practically tho.

On a side note - won a gog comp two Weeks back - how long does it normally take for a reply from the gog contest email?
Congrats and No ideas. You're a pillar of the community so I hope they realize how bad it looks if they make you wait for much longer. It's been a while since a blue visited the cave, I think one is due for another visit.

Well, typical of my luck right now, I arrived at the place to find they'd just sold most of their 2.5 hds.

Had to make do with a 60GB model - big enough to install windows at least.

Need to get back on the road asap though as the calls for work are coming in fast. As a stopgap solution it'll do!

On that note, need to find myself the means to get ahold of windows tomorrow.

Fair enough but you don't strike me as the thinking your unsinkable type. You seem very thoughtful and logical not HMS hubris that tries to drive into an iceberg just to prove a point ;)

My dad was a merchant navy man (and previously a military mechanic / engineer).

I'm more of a practical person at times than my words / appearance may make out! ;)
