well, im bored now - and wont get to play any new games today becausemy internet has shat itself back to stupidity, one (just installed this afternoon) now demands a 350mb update, and the others are similarly not going to download at crawling speed before I need to sleep...
so...
anyone fancy a round of blackjack? - I'll be the dealer and use random.org
loser has to make a thread entitled "why i like my loincloth"
Edit: well bugger that idea then...

So, I'm off to see Yog either tomorrow or over the weekend (my mate who had his leg amputated recently). Hes a massive PNP/ board based RPG fan, but may also enjoy some hotseat games on PC if I can run them from a USB stick.
Anyone got any ideas of decent cheap / free and easy to learn PNP games - OR - hotseat games on GOG that should run from a USB?
I've lready loaded up MoO and MoO2, but im not sure 4x is really his thing. Ive bagged the freebies from the curent humble, but neither of us has a printer with ink right now.
Note: we will be quite shitfaced hence the "easy to learn" request, and I'm skint - hence the "cheap / free" request.

I'm no PnP expert, I'd recommend Pathfinder, but it may be a little more than "cheap".

So I just spent a few minutes in Two Worlds for the first time since sorting out the PhysX mess between Two Worlds and Risen, and discovered that parts of the UI no longer show up. Great. Awesome. Yay. Joy to the world. Etc etc. Well Risen is vastly better than Two Worlds in pretty much every way, save for the teleportation system, so Two Worlds is just going to have to gather dust until I'm done with Risen.

I've finally come up with a Gaming New Years Resolution thingymajig. At first I thought it would be something like "don't buy any new games unless I complete at least 1/3rd of my backlog)" but no, I've got a better one, one that clears part of my backlog anyway.
No buying games that exclusively uses a checkpoint save system, the only exceptions being games that have levels that are meant to be finished in one sitting (like bullet hell games), games that have (numerous) defined save/checkpoint areas (example: Batman: Arkham series' use of doors) that pretty much act as quick saves anyway, and series that have proven that they're not stingy with checkpoints.
As far as the games I already own that uses checkpoints exclusively, it depends on how greedy they are with checkpoints as to whether or not they end up at the bottom of my digital pile of games, covered with a blanket even, all in hopes of forgetting they even exist.
