maybe android and apple devices will work properly

jokes aside I accept that the touchpad is old and unsupported, I expect a few glitches here and there, but nothing of the navigation is better now and quite a lot is worse - the top panel doesn't render properly at all

maybe some of the worst issues will be fixed in the coming weeks, but if Galaxy is launching soon I guess the tech bods are going to have their hands full

are you missing the right edge of the main store page? forum is ok but the store looks like it was guillotined

cart and search are chopped off the nav bar in both sections and account is invisible, although the link is there if I tap the blank area where it's supposed to be

I think it's inevitable that the touchpad's days are numbered, at some point it will have to have a new OS installed.

I'm not sure what other option is there that you can install on it. So I think it might be worth a shot.

Also considering that HP itself used Android on the TouchPad, that should mean the OS works well on it. :)

Android seems to be the most likely, but there were some Linux distros working on it e.g. ubuntu. I just wonder how slow they would be, also the touch interface needs to function correctly which iirc was a problem with the early Linux ports.

I don't need much from a tablet, so if the touchpad can be made to last until there is a cheap replacement with a halfway decent Linux running I'll be happy.

That is understandable. I just think to get the most out of it right now, your options are severely limited. You could setup a new google account for the Android tablet and use that as a sandbox. :)

We also have an HP Touchpad that's dualbooted with both HP and Android. Great piece of hardware that unfortunately was discontinued before it had a chance to get full support :/

How is WebOS different from Android in terms of performance on the TouchPad? Which Android version did you stick into the tablet?

Funny... I was looking at the games pages and thinking GOG's looking like Steam's store.

I remember multi-tasking on WebOS was far superior to Android and IOS. I think the last build I installed was Gingerbread.

Gingerbread is incredibly dated...

Interesting note on multi-tasking as that's one of the things I thought tablets desperately needed.
