Lets make it more specific:

Vvardenfell (Morrowind), Planescapes( Planscape: Tormant), Outland (Burning Crusades), or Pagan (Ultima 8)

Which alien feeling worlds like the best?

As I've only played Burning Crusade out of mentioned games I have only been in Outland, although it doesn't feel very alien-ish. I am such loser.

Start with Morrowind if you like big lands to explore.

I've been thinking of trying out the Elder Scrolls series actually (been starting with Oblivion though) even if fantasy RPGs aren't really my cup of tea (WoW is an exception, moslty because of the online experience and it's quirkyness).

Azeroth has Dwarves, Tamriel does not.

Unfortunately I think that the games from ES have been better than the games from Warcraft, I prefer the more immersive single-player experience of ES games, even WoW's rp servers never quite made me feel like my choices mattered since it was not a world you could truly affect. The WC RTS series still stands tall as one of my favorites however.

Dwarves do have a sense of humor ;)

Found my old Starcraft Anthology copy here on my wardrobe. Installed it and of course got rid of the weird color bug that occurs on Win7.
And I'll be buying Starcraft 2 with the XPAK for my birthday and I just bought Diablo 3 Ultimate Evil Edition for my 360. I have to admit that I really love Blizzard. They are fine on my book and Rock n'Roll Racing is one of their best game ever.

If you have any special fondness for the story of the old game, I strongly suggest you spend your cash elsewhere.
