Sachys: Well, I think I'm gonna bag it

stg83: Don't forget to tag it as well. :P
Aint that kinda bagging! O___O

I was referring to the new Steam user defined tags which make for some hilarious reading for a lot of games there. ;)

Somehow tagging a game as "sausage" may not work out!

It might be appropriate for the dude bro COD games there. :P

justanoldgamer: I think it's Summer Sale Fatigue Syndrome, or SSFS. Summer Sale Fatigue Syndrome sufferers or SSFSS are about as active as a tired sloth or TS.
That's one of the reasons why I suspended my weekly giveway this week. A "not featured in special sales and stil $4.99 during the sale" game got 17 entrants during one week... Clear case of SSFS :P
anyone got an opinion of wizardry 6 and 7 that isnt tainted by nostalgia?

Hard. In case of 6, plain ugly. 7 is okay for it's time. Manual mapping is a must in 6 and preferable in 7. Turn based combat is the same that The Bard's Tale stole from the Wizardry series centuries ago.

But: Faery-Ninjas! What game offers something like thing? Now really, character progress is really satisfying in those games, with countless options (esp. for magic users). The stories are not bad, rather scarce - focus is more on exploration and combat. Dialog is parser based, and this can be a PITA, but that's what walkthroughs are for.

If you can cope with inconvenient hardcore retro a la The Bard's Tale 3, by all means those games are the pinnacle of the genre (esp. 7). Otherwise stay away.

cheers! aye, noticed they're ugly.
main reason im interested is I've a hankering to play 8, yet from what ive read, to get the best experience of it (and options etc in the game), you really need to play 6/7 and import the characters...

Prepare to take some vacation for this. Those are long games.

But as I said - if you like oldschool they're among the best there are. Otherwise you might find them too clunky.

Only 12 min left to decide ;-)

You're welcome. I'm currently fighting with myself if should take Divinity 2. A $20 game for $4 is really tempting. And I looks like a game I might enjoy very much (I love the TES games, Gothic, Witcher...). On the other hand I'm currently really short on money and have a huge backlog and took the Two Worlds bundle a few days ago (just couldn't resist).

Decisions, decisions.
