MaxFulvus: But currently, I can't understand why people love so much the Sharknado franchise... it's so boring and a free speech in favor of sharks slaughtering !
It's the absurd and over the top premise of having hundreds of sharks rain down on an entire city. Something similar, albeit more low-profile, happened with the earlier Asylum film Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus in 2007. It gained some notoriety on the internet for the outlandish concept, as well as a scene in which the shark bites an airplane in half. While I'm actually a big fan of The Asylum's films, I, too, am not particularly fond of Sharknado. I generally prefer it when they play these non-sensical ideas completely straightfaced, rather than the overly self-aware hipster mentality of the Sharknado films, where every other line is basically just them winking at the camera.
