Can't say I have. It's one of those things you really need a couple of friends to watch it with I think, and I don't have a chance to this sort of bad movie night any more. For some bewildering reason most people don't actually want to watch crappy movies, and what few people I new who shared that passion with me moved away. I still try watch some crazy B-movie stuff, but there are some things one just can't handle alone ;)

Which is why I like it so much more than the new one. At least this one was fun. The new one was just so boring. I get that they were trying to build tension, but it should build up to something, and the best we see of Godzilla doing anything awesome in that movie is a split-second on the news on TV in someones home.

Not only that I feel they changed the plot of the movie. I thought the movie to be like a Tragedy movie instead of a B Movie Monster movie.

I thought they were gonna emulate the themes of the Original 1954 Godizlla movie. Godzilla was a walking disaster. A physical manifistation of Nuclear Devestation.

But it feels like in mid production they completely changed the plot. And I think it was because the trailer is completely misleading with one glaring scene that has been altered in the theatrical release.

I could not agree more. I expected Godzilla to be "the bad guy" so to speak, this unstopabble, utterly terryifying force of destruction, apokalips level monstrosity, and the movie to be about the uphill fight against it. Instead we got the "Godzilla is our savior" thing, the "let them fight" sillines, and none of that dread the trailers tried to create.

I know I mean look at these trailers they were going with that, "Godzilla a scary bad monster, Tragedy movie" angle and then all of a sudden they changed it in the last minute.

As to why they changed the tone and theme of the movie. Probably to appeal to the fans that grew up with the more whacky monster vs monster Godzilla movies.

Tron Legacy to me is better than the original. For the sole reason that it at least does have a plot. I feel the Original Tron lacked in a comprehensive story. Its was all just showing off the visuals.

For me it's the other way around. Legacy is all visuals and a thin, plot-hole ridden plot. The original may not be the deepest thing ever, but it's written better, makes more sense, and actually makes good use of the setting and visuals to create something unique and make some interesting points about the creators-creation link, with how the programs resemble their programmers, and my favorite- the final shot of the city at night resembling the Grid. And it actually evoked the spirit of the early arcade games and ideas of Cyberspaaaace, while Legacy might as well be set anywhere, on some alien world in the future.

Tron Original needed at least a re-write to add a more comprehensive plot and background lore because I like what I was hearing. That the Programs worship Users as gods. And of course ambtious intellegent programs seek to surpass the Users.

Also Screamer with Peter Weller is a guilty pleasure. Mid 90's fashion leaks into this sci fi setting with convoluted storyline based off a Phil Dickor Heinlein novella or something. Ray Liotta was hysterical XD

Lake Placid and 1998's Godzilla, which had way more interesting characters for me than the recent film. Also, Joe Dirt - life's a garden man

I have the Ultimate cut. If you like reading the full comic book, they made the film version exactly like the comic. Well as is humanly possible. It also has a read-aloud version of the comic itself and it compares well with of course...the comic...since it is the comic >_>

Still it is the to version to get. I already have the comic on comixology but I like the movie for its visuals and cinematography.
