RWarehall: Just because 4 of the usual forum trolls jump into the thread: TinyE, Omega, Breja and Zeogold don't prove jack.
Those are now trolls? ..........Okay.
The fact you are so convinced you have some right to download any old game for free if you can't find it for sale is ludicrous. Makes you an immoral thief.
For the biillionth time.
How can I steal something that isn't on sale?
If you want to show them some appreciation I suggest you spend some money on their other games.
I still specifically WANT Captain Claw. Don't divert me to 'their other games.'
Especially in lieu of the fact they seem to be okay with people downloading this particular title for free given that there is a long running fan website which has even done interviews with the game's programmers.
This site even has a download link...how about rewarding a fansite who seems to have been doing the right thing for years including communicating with the developers themselves.
>They seem to be okay
>long running
See a pattern here? That's abandonware sites. They're long-running. By publishers and developers turning a blind eye to them to focus on how their current games are doing, they're effectively saying abandonware sites are A-OK. Silence is often a sign of approval, so when they stay silent, they're approving. That is assuming your issue is more 'YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO SO' and not 'YOU HAVE THROWN MONEY EQUIVALENT TO THE GAME'S VALUE OFF THE WINDOW.'
And finally, I have my copy from this fan-site. I'm 100% sure it is no different than an abandonware site, only with the fact that it's dedicated to Captain Claw. If anything, I could split these abandonware sites into multiple 'fansites' for each abandoned game and you'd be okay. Voila? This fansite hosts ISOs and RIPs of the original game for free, and said original game is sold nowhere (regardless of whether you say research or lack thereof). This fansite IS an abandonware site alright.
Of course I'm sure, you'd just rather download any game you want from abandonware sites without even trying to see what the real status of the game is...as is typical for thieving pirates more interested in playing free games...
I do look at the real status of the game. As is typical of you, assuming your opposition's motives.
P.S. Also if you would have done any real research, you would have learned that a sequel was made, but apparently due to some copyright issues with the Captain Claw character, was renamed as Nikita: The Mystery of the Hidden Treasure.
Developer website:
http://development.techland.pl/other-games Thank you for telling me that, but with a game name like that, it was bound to never come up to me. My time is precious, and that includes the time I put into this debate or the time I put into researching Claw. Nowadays a Wikipedia article has all the info I need. If otherwise the article feels lacking or incomplete, or incorrect, I can look into other resources and edit the Wikipedia article myself fine. But when I have college work and other duties to attend for, I can't really just put my time into reading more than a Wikipedia article for what I want to.
