RWarehall: Why don't you pirate idiots leave the thread!
So, if you can't make reasonable arguments, you make insults.
RWarehall: Did you see the thread about Chip's Challenge 2?
https://www.gog.com/forum/general/chips_challenge_2 The programmer bought the rights to his own game and now sells it exclusively on Steam.
He made sure it is an online to play only title and will not release it DRM-free.
Why do you think that is?
Use your own advice and play other games. In fact several similar games were mentioned in the thread - the DROD series, Desktop Dungeons, etc..
RWarehall: He doesn't want you two to be able to steal his hard work for free.
I have another quote from mentioned thread.
he didn't want to bring it to GOG - he only wanted it on steam. ) :
Actually, I found him quite arragont
RWarehall: You two are as clueless as they come. You are why developers want to protect their products at the expense of the law-abiding, why we have to be online to play some of our single-player games and risk not being able to play them during an internet outage.
But just keep making your silly claims that piracy isn't at fault at all for copy-protection...it just makes you look dumber.
No one ever made such claims. And cut with the insults already!
RWarehall: Fear of piracy is the #1 reason most companies refuse to release DRM-free. Why else are they using DRM in the first place, Einstein?
I was talking about GOG vs Steam release, not DRM. And yes, DRM is not the primary reason that many devs prefer Steam, usability is.
