is anyone else tired of denuvo getting forced into everything these days? I get if you don't like steam and I completley get it but steam (steamworks) itself doesn't prevent me from actually playing most the time. if a game has steamworks integration, that fine but i typically avoid if it has other 3rd party drm just because i wanna keep to my morals and i think drm (denuvo right now) is excpecially dangerous to the longevety of a game.

what makes me really sad about all of this is how people (especially steam forums) vehemtimly defend denuvo and drm in general, it's just a very sad sight.\

I wish the coporations i used to RESPECT (SEGA) would stop using denuvo (and better yet, start using gog) but i know that's not gonna happen.

pcgaming too me right now is being hyped for a game and praying to god that it doesn't use denuvo. (i was excited zone of the enders 2nd runner was coming, went to the page, has denuvo, greatly dissapointed, went to the forum, NO ONE talking about it)

No offense but neither does Denuvo unless you're having some serious outlying issues. And if longevity is your main concern then Steam really isn't much different, at least when the game uses it as DRM

that's simply not true, ive seen abunch of comments on the internet stating the opposite.

I read all kinds of stuff on the internet. And most people don't have issues with Denuvo preventing them from playing most of the time which should be clear to anyone following the major games releasing with it.

Are there valid complaints to make against Denuvo? Sure. Is 'Denuvo preventing you from playing most of the time' one of them? You'd have to be a rare exception for that to happen. Many of us have at least a number of Denuvo games and have never even seen it do anything, let alone prevent us from playing.

Ow lord it's Minuteworld. Weren't you the one on Steam that went straight to namecalling people rather than actually having a discussion. Edit: I see you got yourself banned.

I would think many gog users wouldn't even have any denuvo titles because we fucking hate drm in general...

I don't doubt it.

I refrain from answering that question

Well, good luck with picking up the Denuvo discussion again here. No doubt it'll be a more receptive audience.
I think so, hopefully.
I'm tired and sick of Denuvo indeed. Seems almost every game company has to dip every game n the boiling lava pond that is Denuvo. Nevermind the bad rep or the fact that it's yet ANOTHER layer of DRM which you can fail and be locked out of the game, nevermind the performance hits and nevermind that its difficulty to crack kills the longevity of a game. No no no siree, no.

The sad thing is, most of these Denuvo'd titles actually sell, which enforces the stance the general public has on being spiked by DRM: "We would love to <3"

it sucks. i'd actually wanna buy these games if not for denuvo. if sega removed denuvo from yakuza, instant buy. (even tho banned from those forums too.)
I think it works. It tries to protect the initial sales of a game and keep it uncracked as long as possible.

But after it's been cracked, it should be removed. Until then, it's a good thing.

Yea. Great source! And I have seen a bunch of comments on the internet stating that the world is flat.

Sure, Denuvo is crap. But so is Steam-DRM. Any DRM means that the game is basically broken and can't be played without the distributors say-so. Denuvo on it's own isn't even DRM but only an additional layer of protection for the underlying DRM. So it doesn't make games less playable ... just possibly a bit slower because it may waste resources. But to me it doesn't matter whether they pile some Denuvo crap on top of the DRM-crap. I will never buy anything using either.
I stay away from all Denuvo infested games as i do with DRM, i'm not going to spend my money and have that shit in my games and luckily there's enough good games nowadays without DRM.

There's enough complaints about shitty performance impact, Sonic Mania debacle and many others and while not all of them may be accurate there's definately enough reason to value your money more than spending them on Denuvo and DRM restricting your access to games.
