I'm really hoping sega stops using it. they never needed it before

This being a Unity game you have to wonder why they even bothered. It wasn't even protecting the EXE, it was on a DLL instead. They didn't even need to crack it anymore, if I'm not mistaken all they did was take the cracked dll from another game and poof, done.

At least it wasn't as silly as the Naruto/Boruto striker game, where the devs accidentally pushed an exe without Denuvo protection to Steam xD

Probably you're referring to Spore and Simcity 2013. However, Denuvo does just the same. Probably you have no problems with denuvo, which is fine for you. Fact is you're limited and not only for 24 hours. You need also to be permanent online, otherwise it won't work. And it looks to your hardware and if one thing is changed you're screwed. Then it counts as a new installation. So it behaves also like spyware.

Pff. Yes it's an install limit. No it is absolutely not the same. One you're guaranteed to run into if you install your game more than a few times over your entire lifetime and once it happens your game is gone. The other someone may run into in extremely rare cases and even then it's resolved within 24 hours. It baffles me you can even pretend they're the same. Uh no? Ubisoft 'Always Online' was something where you needed to be permanently online. Where if you lost internet connection you just got kicked out of the game. Denuvo does have some sort of online check but I believe it's once every 2 weeks. Screwed? Not unless you're going to do that several times within 24 hours. That's a somewhat valid argument, in the same way Steam or Galaxy are I imagine.

Denuvo still protects it , so....usually this curator is accurate.. However many users mentioned (aside the activation to the Denuvo server) no loss in performance. That's one of the few games where the anti-temper seems to be properly implemented (but that doesn't change my opinion about this crap).

Since this thread has been bumped, I have to satisfy a curiosity. Maybe the answer is already written somehwere, but I don't feel like reading the entire thread to find out, please pardon me for my laziness! :P

My question is: let's suppose I install a game packing Denuvo. What does it actually do and is it possible to erase every trace of it when uninstalling the game it came with?

Edit - Also: Steam community. A flaming garbage pile. As horrible as this forum has become, it is still nothing compared to that.

Go to Crackwatch and pick an uncracked Denuvo game, it's full of them

Steam's the belly of the beast for that discussion. Longevity is the strongest argument against Denuvo, and if that were a real concern, why would you be buying games on Steam to begin with?

most of the main concerns (which is a REALLY big concern) is longevity being the game that use it are tied to a server. denuvo dies or you don't have good internet? 50/50 chance that you can even launch the game.

people have also reported that it bloats the .exes too an absurd amount and performance impact (a guy on youtube made 3-4 videos on denuvo testing the impacts)
