I agree. Robots will inherit Earth and deserve some respect.

I never thought I'd read this in a videogames forum. :-/

But captcha is an insolence. Especially to robots.

It's even more of an insolence when you reside in a country like China where google is blocked and you're effectively locked out of your games since the crapchas won't even load.

Thankfully, gog has realised this and enabled a system inside of China that is waaaaaay more fun and less time consuming (drag the mouse cursor to where the puzzle piece should go). They should use the same thing outside of China as well. Even with the Chinese characters it's less obtuse and annoying to use than this google abomination.

Crapcha is utter shit straight from the deepest pits of hell. It has to go. Everyone who willingly subjects his users/customers to this torture needs to have his head examined.

I've not had to do a captcha on GOG for a long long time, when are you being asked to do it?

Saw it twice yesterday. No, haven't seen it in a while.

When doing what, logging in or purchasing? Maybe they turned it on because of the sale.

Was trying to remember actually. One was testing one of the keys I sent to Zeogold. I saw it a second time but can;t remember where. I remember it though since i got the same street sign picture both times.

I do not mind to have captcha for security reasons, but using 3rd party solution to fulfill them is IMHO a bad move.

I'm using Firefox with NoScript and any Google services are blocked by me by default.

But on GOG I am forced to allow them "sometimes". Sigh. :/

I get them every time I try to redeem a game code.
It might be linked to not having a Google account, Google punishing me for not playing their game…

I don’t remember seeing them when logging in (but I never log out, so I don’t do it often), and have never seen any captcha when purchasing games here.

When I land on the Redeem Code page, there's a recaptcha icon on the page. One of the things we teach our clients that the simplest way to detect a bot is to check to see if javascript will run.

I have a feeling that's what you;re seeing there.

Javascript is not blocked on the browser I use on GOG. Not even evil Google Javascript ;)
I'm still angry.
