MULTIPLAYER!

There we are. That should scare off and clear out all the people who are going to show up just to say "I can't stand multiplayer games, they're like DRM!"

Now, to get down to business:
Me and omega64 are attempting to get a group of people together to play some video games! It started off with the two of us playing stuff often, then increased to include Sanfueg (WHEEERE AAARE YOOOOU?! WHY HAVE YOU DISAPPEAAAARED?!) and Fantasysci5, with the occasional appearance of JunglePredator.
After a good couple months or so of us meeting up often with the basic schedule of "whenever", we figure we may as well try to at least semi-organize some official days or times and things for other GOGers to join in. If this thing actually gets any traction, mayhaps this thread can be used to organize such meetings among forumites who wish to hash it out (or work together) with one another via gaming.
Here's how it works:
1. This thread will be used as a vague, disorganized attempt to corral together some potential meeting times in which to game in.
2. We typically use Discord's voice chat to communicate with, so if you're shy about your karaoke skills (or ours), be aware of that.
3. We often use Steam, so if this triggers you, you may wish to leave the room (hopefully the warning of "multiplayer" got rid of those people).
4. If Sanfueg comes back, we WILL be making vampire jokes.
5. Omega is secretly British. And adopted.

The following games we've been playing so far is:
- Van Helsing
- Torchlight 2
- TABLETOP SIMULATOR!!!!! <--- Get this. Seriously. Get it. If you don't want it, buy a copy for a friend who can play with us.
- Saint's Row 3 <----I won't be joining you for this one, which means there's 50% less reason to play it, but I mean...if you really want to...
- Skullgirls <---I'm the best out of all of us at this
- Lethal League <-----this too
- Divekick <---fear my skills
- Injustice <---got dem superior hackz
- Viscera Cleanup Detail
- Magicka <---if you join this one, rule #1 is that you HAVE to kill Omega.
- Nidhogg
- Screencheat
- Alien Swarm
- ...and many more! <---in other words, whatever else we happen to have in our libraries

So...anybody interested?
By the way, did I mention you should buy Tabletop Simulator? You totally should. On sale for 10 bucks right now. Just imagine all the Secret Hitler games!

People interested:

Actually, my main reason for not playing multiplayer isn't DRM (which is not necessary for multiplayer), but rather the fact that I dislike competition, and always have since I was young. Also, there are issues with harassment and griefing, so I would prefer not to play with strangers.

Anyway, while I won't be participating, I believe Unepic has an interesting mutiplayer mode that might be worth looking into.

never miss a chance to get tabletop simulator when it is on discount damnit
the discount price should be the regular price for this thing :)

also: many crazy things available in the steam workshop for it
also 2: secret hitler, damnit ;)
i even think i saw a module for palast gefluster (not sure of the spelling) which is an amazingly wicked 3-5 players nasty piece of hell

so... while it's still at 10 bucks... SHUT UP AND GIVE YOUR MONEY !

(can also be used to make and test your wannabe boardgame prototypes of your own design, with some patience)

@dtgreene some games are not about competitions; some games are fun even if you loose, as long as you play with cool people and have fun during the game...

^This!

and I really like reading your threads little zeo:)
If this somehow gets going it would be interesting to gathet a group to play tower of salem, it' a f2p browser game, people enjoy playing the forum mafia so why not give this a try? Problem would be to get something like 10~15 goggers to play at the same time...
I'd love to join, but I have none of those games. Maybe if you play Dirt 3, though I still need to DL it.
I have tableflip simulator, Saints row, Torchling 2, Injustice, Magicka and other stuff.

Of course, the problem is that playing random people on the Internet means you have a good chance of being grouped with unpleasant people who are not cool, such as sore winners.

(Also, I think you mean "lose", not "loose".)
