Idiots like you who couldn't be bothered to read the original post completely ruined, wrecked, destroyed, and defecated on the remains of the first thread we had, necessitating the creation of this one... which was supposed to be idiot-proof. So sorry if I come off as an intolerant asshole, but get the hell out. Go check out the thread called "Members Game Wishlist" and read from around page 30 to page 40 to see why I'm reacting like this. Oh, and also... I suggest you read up on the idiot-stick.

...It seems Nmillar is a much more patient person than I am, lol.

AdiJager: just rep- and bury him alive ;-)
I still do that to people who post incorrectly in the old thread, lol. Yup, I'm a vengeful bastard.
Currently On Wishlist:

Ultima Underworld 1+2
HOMM 3
Dungeon Keeper

I don't really want to post my email here since the whole world can see this thread (hence i don't get why so many of you are posting your emails publicly) but if you would like to gift me one of the games i would be most grateful and give you an email.

Y'know, spam companies fishing for email addresses have far more effective means of getting them than reading through or automatically searching forums like this one.... and I doubt any GOG community member is going to send you much of anything unless it's to gift you a game. To each their own, though. =)

Hey, thanks. I fear of become less funny in there lately, though... GameRager's making me nuts with his grand scheme to repurpose the thread. =P

It's still not clever to do it, If someone wanted to they could just fish for someones email on here then send them a message saying 'GoG gifting thread' which contains a nasty.

Just be careful when giving info away.

Yeah, they could... But if by "nasty" you mean a virus, you're 99% safe from that if you have a decent antivirus program (if you don't, I highly recommend the free version of Avast). I'm very careful about giving away sensitive info, but a lot of people hear about viruses and hacking and such and become overly paranoid. It's worth taking the time to learn what information is safe to give away and what isn't.

Also, even if you don't have an antivirus, you're pretty safe from emails as long as you don't download any suspicious attachments or click any suspicious links. Just a little friendly advice from someone with above-average computer skills. =)

Hmm i guess i am a bit paranoid, i never open any mails in case of this sort of thing, it was because i heard about the ILOVEYOU virus, apparently it infects your computer even if you don't open the actual mail :P

Somebody misinformed you, lol - the ILOVEYOU virus comes in an attachment that you have to open in order to get it.

That being said, if you use a program such as Outlook that downloads all your emails onto your computer, it's possible that that would be enough to give the virus contained in the attachment a foothold... I don't use or know much about this kind of program, so I couldn't tell you for certain. I do know that these programs contain scanning software that checks emails for viruses before downloading them, although that can never be 100% certain to catch something. Still, I wouldn't be worried about posting your email somewhere like this. If a suspicious website asks you to enter your email, on the other hand, I generally wouldn't do it.

With webmail, wherein you access your email through an internet browser such as Firefox, Chrome, or Internet Explorer (as opposed to programs like Outlook or Thuderbird), any email you receive sits on a server belonging to your email provider (Msn, Yahoo, Google, Comcast, Verizon, etc.). If anyone could possibly get a virus just because you received an email, it's them. That being said, you can also view that email safely. The only time webmail can possibly endanger your computer is if you click on a link in the email or open an attachment.

I hope that helps. The internet can definitely be a dangerous place for your computer, but with the right knowledge you can avoid the dangerous parts and still fully enjoy the safe parts.

You know, that person's listed country IS Turkey.

It's not out of the realm of possibility that their English isn't very good, and the person made an honest mistake.

Going off on them like that when there's no proof that they did it ignorantly or neglected to try and understand what the thread was for might discourage them from using the forum again.

Just Sayin.
