Whatever happened to making a good game and having people buy it on it's own merits?

There are the talented artists of the world and then there are the Ed Wood's who have to create cheap publicity stunts to sell their products...sorta reminds me of the upcoming game Hatred...

Sooooooooo, some news from the 'front'. Apparently a AAA dev was raging on twitter because Anti-GG people basically pressured his studio's enviromental artist (Female) into quitting. They were getting messages sent saying 'denounce GG or else', and she didn't want to stand for that. People have been working on verifying his story, his twitter account got suspended (he was pretty fucking mad, so he went a-ranting),

But this, and the creator of the blocking 'tool' that the IGDA promoted basically harassing a woman for trying to be polite and talk to GG people (Both are Anti-GG) to the point where the woman was in tears and deleted her twitter, I'm losing the ability to even take the idea that anti-GG is against harassment, they're just against it happening to them.

You made me look in English dictionnary for "slander" and seeing it's a synonym of "defamation", I have trouble to see her comment as offensive plus the fact that he adressed her directly to get her attention, it's just looks like a typical daily exchange on a forum where two people are disagreeing ^o^. I don't see the shame in being retweeted if you stand up for your POV, but hey, I'm quite a noob on social medias maybe I'm too laidback for those kind of internet dramas :)

I was saying what he wrote isn't slander. The point being is you go through her posts about people (not necessarily this one) and use the same criteria for slander (i.e. calling her a "monster" or "totalitarian"), she has used enough name-calling herself.

As to standing up for yourself, I agree. She has every right. But what I have a problem with is "standing-up for yourself" at every turn and opportunity and then complaining about being constantly harassed.

But with tweets like...
"Does anyone else need to get blocked? Just did 15, I can do this all day."
And all her constant re-tweeting of mostly not very offensive tweets...

How is that not just egging the harassment on?

When you challenge established moral and ethical values which are still propagated in every other medium of communicative representation(books, television, radio, newspapers, movies, comics and so on) and are still present in most of the worlds different societies as world views for people to live by. And those values have already been changed to the benfefit of a certain group of people in an area of the world and those benefiting from those changes say, no, you think it is ok now, you must also abandon this and that, everyone in the world must abandon part of his cultural history. LIke no, there will be no Star Wars, because...there will be no other Taken movie and Lord of the Rings is bad bad bad, you have to forget the Brothers Grimm stories...Challenge many other cultural areas of the world, because gamers have no nationality, no "race", no common age, no anything, except for their common hobby...you have to be prepared to get a bloody nose.

When you say to somebody(basically to a lot of people) "You (guys) are full of shit, misogynist retard(s)." Expect to get hit hard and do not complain about it.

And seriously all this Twitter stuff, who would use Twitter to discuss a topic...except for the sake of making a statement, there is no interest in discussion. It is just a ping pong of "you're full of shit", " no, you are", " no you", "how can you say that you prick!!!", third person comes in to participate " no he is right, you are the a-hole", fourth person joins the other side "you are for way longer an a-hole, besides mr x said it two weeks ago already". Mr X joins in "No i did not say that, I meant it as a metaphor for..."......and so on.

So, can somebody please explain to me what r/GamerGhazi is?

As with a lot of things coming from the anti-GG side, I'm honestly having a hard time determining whether this is satire or it it's actually supposed to be taken seriously. Or if the posters are trolls adding fuel to the fire or actual SJWs who are too far gone to realise how apeshit they sound.

Honestly, I really have trouble to find this tweet offensive. The woman is not good at handling social media but nothing forces you to read her page. I don't like AS but that's not why I should check her twitter page to see what is her latest rant. And nothing wrong with retweeting, like I said if you assume what you say, there is nothing wrong if you're being re-tweeted by your so-called "enemies".

The problem I have is the harassment is mutual. She retweets this and then the unsavory part of her pack of 29,000 followers swoops in to chastise, berate and name call. Wait? Isn't that what the unsavory minority of Gamergate is accused of doing? So basically, she gets harassed still by trolls. So she sics her followers and anyone even including her hashtag, they get harassed and the circle continues.

I just stopped into her Twitter to see "all the harassment" she was still suffering and this is what I saw. and then Tweets like this...

"I've deliberately not talked about Gamergate for a long time, but I want to tell you - they are still alive and still targeting my friends."

Guess how long a "long time" is? Would you believe one day! With this tweet...

"What was Gamergate doing in 1998? The exact same ****, it turns out."
