I don't watch youtube political much but this is gold : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEaZyYOLUUk

EDIT : TL;DW shoe reacts (*sigh*) to a video made supposedly for kids that present nothing but opinions as facts of sexuality. Also probably not too appropriate considering this seems to be a video about sexuality meant for pre-school kids.

"Queer kids Stuff" is strange. I personally can't tell if it's goal is to sexuality children or infantilize Teens/adults

And on a more GG front..
With the "Ladykiller in a bind" commotion it seems Gaming journo ethics issues such as collusion still plague the industry

Hopefully its for child-like adults.

What happened with that game? Isn't it some visual novel? Someone didn't disclose?

It's by Christine Love, former roommate and partner of reviewer Patricia Hernandez who inexplicably reviewed just about every one of her indie games. No surprise that it is reviewed by all the usual suspects: Gamasutra, Polygon, MarySue, PC Gamer, Ars Technica, etc despite being a "Mature" VN game with BDSM.

You'd think it was a AAA game with all the attention it gets because it's a dear friend of the in-crowd even with it's NSFW content.

The game has some indie game award nomination as well. But what's the controversy, if there is one? And wasn't Patricia a room mate of some other developer? I recall a stereotypical tumblerina from somewhere.

The controversy is Christina Love is an Indie Clique Darling.

All those asshole didn't give a single shit when games like Nekopara, the Grisaia series and countless other VN's got refused or butchered by Steam. And they Didn't care when Steam finally released uncensored VN such as If My Heart Had Wings or Gahkthun of the Golden Lightning.

And there are a lot of people who actually care about those games especially compared to that game., but those devs sadly didn't have the name of a worn out porn star.

Yeah, Anna Antrophy too. Patricia Hernandez is shameless when it comes to writing reviews for her friends....

At least I didn't see Patricia review this one this time, but Katherine Cross did...

But really, the issue isn't about disclosure as much as it's about how certain individuals get favorable press coverage from all the major players despite their games being typical bundleware crap. The fact they are friends, former roommates and/or lovers of gaming journos just shows how corrupt and incestuous the game journo industry is. It's not like this game got reviewed in just one or two mags, but all of them. This as a small time indie title.

Yeah reviews or any coverage for VNs is rare, and even rarer serious. I would question the sudden interest of so many hitherto uninterested journalists in this particular one, but I don't think this is a breach of ethics that is very serious. I think it can be argued that it had something that interested the journos enough to make them cover it, even if that was that it was made by their friend. Its partly a problem of lack of coverage of this genre in general.

Yes, it can matter heavily in genres of relative obsolescence but there is also the part that games in this genre are rarely covered in the first place and even though this coverage is probably the result of friendship, following a developer one knows is legitimate as a practice, IMO, as long as relations are disclosed where it extends to friendship.

What bothers me the most is that they even have the nerve to act like gatekeepers, saying only the erotic games they approve should not be censored. That is simply insulting. I hate these fucking hypocrites.
Regarding Brianna Wu running for congress.

This could develop into so many ways and all of them are an absolute trainweck.

And ironically he's making Gamergate relevant again.

I'd discard anything from consideration if I were to vote for him, even the compulsive lying, attention whoring and the belief that her (his?) word is worth more than factual evidence, but I'd still struggle to vote for him based on the fact that he's outright insane, and more so than any human mental disorder can make him.
People still care about Gamergate and still follow people like Wu? Seems a bit obsessed.

There's still a lot of unethical practices going on in game journalism so until their 'obsession' with corruption, lying, cronyism (etc) deflates then the opposition for that won't either.

I think game journalism is dead or at least dying. On forums I visit, people used to post links all the time to gaming news websites. Instead they now post to the actual source of the news - Twitter, Facebook, Youtube or smaller news outlets that aren't involved in the Gamergate scandal. And IF they post a link to one of those sites, they use an archive link.

Ah well if those sites die, it's no big loss. Their "news" was useless anyway. Most of them were afraid to speak out against publishers because they those same publishers were balls deep inside their asses with ad revenue.
