Not sure if this was posted here yet; it's a few weeks old, but I just bumped into it tonight:
Online Harassment Affects Men Too by Cathy Young
http://time.com/3546044/online-harassment-affects-men-too/
Very good article that challenges "the familiar narrative of women in jeopardy" on the Internet and uses actual data (shocking!) to show that men are harassed online, too. Talks about the issue as it relates to video games including a great bit comparing harassment of Sarkeesian and Thompson. Check out her other pieces, too, such as her write-up of
#ShirtStorm.
I'm developing some respect for TIME for giving space to intelligent, well-spoken women like Cathy Young and Christina Hoff Sommers who challenge radical feminist ideology.
Of course I've seen several absurd feminist comments to the effect that "TIME is choosing to side against women" by publishing these WOMEN's views. The outright hypocrisy of that kind of position (categorically denying the validity of other women's differing views) and the overt, shameless push for censorship are appalling.
Narakir: Do you realize you can be a leftist and metalhead and not approve all their censorship and political correctness crap ?
I personally doubt that any philosophy that espouses coercion of peaceful people beyond the minimum necessary for a stable government and rule of law (a minarchy, and even that might be achieved by largely voluntary means) can be reconciled with libertarianism, but I've encountered a few "left-leaning" libertarians recently, and so yes, I'm trying to be more open... But it's tough with all the bullshit coming from the left lately.
