Like John Lennon he was a man of great sincerity and integrity. The question is, were he a young blood today would Che be a socialist? The answer, because of his integrity, because of his great courage and wisdom, must be an indisputable NO! In the 1950's and 1960's, for millions of people fighting oppression and injustice around the world, just as we do today, it seemed Marxism was the answer and that's understandable given historical context. Low birth rates and high divorce rates are virtually incentivized by most western governments. With no fault divorce forcing men to hand over most of their propety (ie: home etc) to their ex-wife. Rachel Rouse Actually, you're completely wrong. Whites are under represented in tech, compared to their overall representation of the population. Don't believe me? Look up another article on medium.com addressing this issue from today and see the stats.

There is exactly one group that is going to lose out if you all get your way, and that's Asians. They're significanly overrepresented in tech relative to their percentage of the population. Assuming you want everything 'equal', LinkedIn would have to layoff 2/3rds of their Asian staff. Same with Yahoo. In fact, every single company would have to hire more whites, along with more hispanics and probably every black that could fog a mirror.

But you don't want it to be equal now, do you?

So I caught The Daily Show last night and Jon Stewart was on! Great episode, and I dearly missed him, but before that there was a segment on MSNBC broadcasting the personal information of completely unrelated people in the name of sensationalism. This seems right up GG's alley, and a wonderful example of the kind of stunning journalistic incompetence we've been fighting against for over a year. I know many of us probably want to see this thing expand to go after bad journalism in general rather than just in gaming journalism, and it seems like a perfect starting point given how egregious and indefensible this particular case is.

That line about lowering the bar seems to be the one most people have honed in on, and I think it highlights something that's becoming more and more prevalent: people adopting causes and then seeing the entire world through the lens of those causes. No nuance whatsoever. If Twitter's hiring practices are racist—which is a starting point for some people because of their chosen lens—then the comment suggests that certain races are less capable. If their hiring practices aren't, which is a starting point for others, then it's merely pointing out that they already hire the best people regardless of race and that they're not going to overlook someone qualified for a less-qualified individual who happens to check a "diversity" box.

Honestly, I think both sides are stupid and the world needs more lateral thinking in these kinds of situations. Seeing what company it is, I see no reason they couldn't have their applicants make new Twitter accounts without their picture, name, gender, or anything else one feels hinders their ability to land a job, and have the whole interview/hiring process take place in an entirely even playing field based on merit. That way everyone would be happy, right?
