second: the SJW's themselves made the "Play asia" thing when they chose to act all offended at Play asia for offering a means for fans to get the game. So it could be said that SJW's helped Play asia get so many followers by making making a "mountain out of a molehill"

Did Koei/Tecmo just played the card of cheap marketing ? Who cares
Did the DOAX spinoff serie never sold itself well ? Yes, but it didnt cost that much either, reutilising assets and engine, and using up art team during non production steps of main doa games
IS it a niche game ? Yes, it's pure fan service
Did play asia provoke people ? Well, they just stated the reason Koei/Tecmo told out themselves first, and just let know their customers that they would provide the product as they do with many many other asian import only product so far

Were the whole outrage barrage, threats and behavior/words of SJW towards play asia justified by any mean ? NO !

I will tell it again: NO ! boycott calls, HATRED call, physical threats call... Those are NOT to be tolerated against a import product provider that explain that a otherwise banned/unavailable product will be on their catalog, even if it state back the reason of the unavailability ot said product is exactly because of the hysterical fanatical STUPIDITY of a bunch of hyppocrites.

Video game AINT by any mean the correct STARTING POINT of a society change regarding any minority problem... IRL, I feel Sparta wasn't much more than what we make of it today. They defeated the Athenian army and lost to the Athenian navy and was too underdeveloped to take Athens because they didn't know how to make siege weapons. I'd think Macedon was much more worthy of a badass title.

They didn't lose to the Athenian navy. They won the war against Athens pretty decisively - at least the one that really counted - the Peloponnesian War. Sure enough that was aided by Athenian strategic errors, but still.

Things still went up and down a bit with the subsequent Corinthian war. But it was Thebes that knocked down Sparta a peg even later. All of this was in the runnup to Phillip's Macedonian Hegemony, which would lead to Alexander, etc...

You're right the normal view of Sparta is somewhat underwhelming, but that's because most people think of Thermopylae and Leonidas, which was way earlier and in fact represents the birth of Sparta as a power so to speak. It was a mostly symbolic thing, though given that battle's importance in the Greek mythos a pretty big symbol.

The historical reality of Sparta however is not underwhelming at all. They pretty much had hegemony over Greece as a consequence of the Peloponnesian war. They perhaps were not really into being overtly imperialistic though. And I guess in a way that's a very realpolitik lesson: restraint usually does not pay off, unless your concerns are more ethical than political.
