Shadowstalker16: Yes there are. I don't know if they do necrophilia but they do eat corpses and all other manner of vile shit (literally). They exist on the fringes of mainstream saddhuhood (saddhu = ascetic). They also conduct animal sacrifices. Fortunately they exist only in a few areas; like one or two, one of which is unfortunately Varanasi which has many important temples and is a very active pilgrim center. They believe that going to the edge of unholiness will bring them to holiness. Most of them are probably crazy as well.

If we are talking about the same kind of guys that walk on burning coals, I don't think we need much of a discussion to say they are far down their own weird rabbit hole.

They are related to the burning coal guys, but not the same. They are far weirder. But people let them be. Mostly because they never mess with others. There was also a far more insane group in the same religion that killed people randomly because thye felt killing made them closer to hollyness.

- The "firewalking" on hot coals is a big tradition in Bulgaria and some caribbean islands as well and not a specifically Indian thing
- The Shiva/Shakti-priests I've seen are just some solitary guys with mostly no real followers at all that are only eating parts of corpses that are floating in the ganges at "burial season" (well not buried, but you get the idea) and it's more a ritually motivated nibbling than actual eating. I wonder how they survive this with all the deseases this may cause...
- There are models in all shapes that are actually making money this way, including the trained muscular ones, although they are not the ones you see walking on those famous catwalks where some kind of average underfed ethiopian body is celebrated as an ideal, although this is changing a lot too currently
