Fair enough guys.

Personally I don't feel strongly enough to join either team, but I respect your goals.

It's a funny and tragic story with a moral. It ties to some of the things that have been happening in these culture fights.

Some Chinese General is moving his army to another city, during a period when penalties for any kind of disobedience were extreme. Weather is bad, he knows he will be late, so he asks his aide:
-Remind me what is the penalty for being late?
-It's death general.
-Hmmm. And what is the penalty for rebellion?
-Death.
-Well then...

The rebellions are becoming more and more obvious. Yet the ones that put in place the systemic incentives are blind to the causality. ;)

I hate the death threats, and would love for the people who made them to be found and tried because I can't imagine that it's not a crime in most countries. I've got a few theories, agreeing that there are extremists on both sides that might be doing some of this, and I would not be surprised if there are some people on the outside of all of this looking at it as a prime target for large scale trolling.

So this happened.
Oh great, now MSNBC is involved.

Apparently Brianna Wu decided to smear Gamergate on national TV instead of having her promised interview with Milo (http://yiannopoulos.net/2014/10/13/about-radio-nero-episode-4/).

I was looking forward to actually listening to a proper discussion between folks from opposite sides of the extremes, rather than just seeing them exchange barbs on Twitter.

I guess that's too much to ask.

The butt hurt is strong in this one. Seems they're digging their heels in and getting even more obnoxious lately.

StingingVelvet: Didn't say otherwise. I'm talking about PR tactics. Fair or not, GG is forever tied to the campaign of harassment on Quinn and others. Once your brand is tainted it's hard to make a sale.
Oh please, consumer movements have historically been branded in a negative light by those who are afraid of them. Early consumer movements in the US were branded as unamerican and communist movements - which is far worse back then than being called misogynist today. Back then being unamerican was enough to put you on trial for treason. But the movements pushed through and guess which side won?

I used to like Jim Sterling, but he lost a lot of credibility from me after that shit.

This is disgusting. I can't even find words to express how fucking ridiculous that is.

So John Walker of RPS recently claimed that he received thousands and thousands of harassing tweets telling him to kill himself and other horrible things. Let's play a little game, shall we? Use Twitter's advanced search here, type in his Twitter handle @botherer in the "to these accounts" box, and then fill the "any of these words" box with every hurtful, threatening, and hateful word you can think up. If you find the thousands of tweets he mentioned, you win.

This is thus far proving to be an impossible game to win, even when you search all the way back to 2012 well before Gamergate began. What kind of a monster fabricates harassment?

Quit it. Reducing people to their appearance gives the other side ammo.

Like girls/women don't judge guys on their appeareances too? :o) By American standards, I would already be considered as a sexual harasser in real life for flirting with girls/women so I don't care ^o^

Calm down there, Che Guevara. I don't take this thing anywhere near as serious as you seem to.
