The sad thing is based on the footage the game looked kind of interesting, but her lack of reach with the gamer audience made the game so irrelevant (or rather kept it in that state) that even those like me who felt some interest don't even remember the name of that game. The aGG press insists gamers are not the audience, but they are proven wrong by the fact that the games they support, or pretend they do, don't get a boost on sals bacause of tehir support, sometimes their support is even detrimental since now people suspect there could be an secret agenda behind the support of that game.

Sunset was a trainwreck from the begining, but the game Sarkeesian actually advertised seemed interesting.

Given her skills at marketing and social manipulation as well as not coming thorough on her Kickstarter project, I suppose its in her character to pocket money that was not earned.

But really bugs me is how people view news media and how news media operates as a business. It's simply in the interest of business to propagate controversy without investigating the truth of the matter. As we have seen from MSM coverage this and other events. Truth was never on the table nor was it considered.

People who don't like video games were encouraged by people who don't like video games to make a video game for people who don't like video games. And then they wonder why no one is buying. By using the word 'Hipster' rather than 'Elitist' you make it sound like it a new or 'trendy' phenomenon, while that may be true for computer games, I don't think that any other artist medium would expect a perfect correlation between critical acclaim and commercial success

And I think that's got more to do with these kinds of games not really existing before rather than some 'hipsterisation' of the gaming press and THAT's just a natural consequence of DD sites like Steam, making smaller projects more viable, or at least publishable

On the other side though, I'm equally baffled that ToT themselves would expect critical acclaim to guarantee commercial success too...

Funny how similar that Mad Tv skit is to being an actual modern phenomenon.

So we've reached a point in society when it's sexual harassment to try and return a shirt or sit in a chair. I guess that's why people panic so easily now over actual real life drama, because they're being triggered 24 hours a day by the mundane banalities of life. By the time something real happens that's worthy of their reaction, they're spent and have no endorphins left to absorb it properly.

Its not about calling out the real problems in society. Its about creating a problem where there wasn't one and being given praise and $$$ for whining about it.
