Me as well. Playing Age of Empires 2 is what got me into medieval history. Now I know more than most 10th grade history teachers about particular time periods; and I still wanna learn more.
But there are people celebrating this censorship; even though both Confederate and Union had running slave systems then and the Union still had it after winning. I get the feeling some dumbfucks knowledge of the American Civil War is based only off Night at the Museum 1 where Larry says something like ''Sorry south, you had to go; slavery is bad'' to the Confederate soldier exhibits fighting the Union soldier exhibits.

But, in that context, it doesn't actually matter if the rebel flag was, historically a 'pro-slavery' flag if it has become a symbol of white supremacy today - I mean a lot of those 'dumbfucks' are going to be on the white supremacy side and the states don't want to give the impression that they somehow endorse them...

I'm defiantly in favor of removing the confederate rebel flag from current state flags because the current flags states who you are and what you are about today, I'm heavily against whitewashing history though, I would be against any attempts to hide the fact that the confederate flag was a part of those state flags that change it until 2015, for example

As I've told before, I had such experiences and was shamed and ridiculed (even by my mother and ex-gf) just like all the other guys that made the mistake to talk about it which was usually 30-40 years later and I guess most don't do this at all.
Well, I guess many WRAs would prefer men rather to commit suicide than destroying the gender binary victim/perpetrator order. Good work, three to four times as many men than women already do so as can be seen in various suicide statistics throughout Europe and the UK.

In the end it doesn't matter if there are more male rapists or if it's just a theory, because the victim shaming and non-believing is creating perpetrators out of victims for sure, leading to a bigger threat than if all people regardless of gender would be allowed to treat their mental problems in a more constructive way than just changing sides which is by far not as unusual as we'd want it to be.

The problem is this...those who want the flag removed are the one's claiming it supports white supremacy. This is very similar to how Gamergate is claimed to be a symbol for harassment by those opposed to it. Of course those who want it removed are going to make such over-arching claims.

What do you really even know about it besides what you've read in the media? Have you traveled to the Southern United States? Interacted with people there?

And let me go further...I live in the Northern United States. Frankly, I don't believe its any of my business whether some southern States use the flag or not. It's the decision of the people of that state. Let them decide.

Otherwise you have people claim that violent video games are a symbol for school shootings as an excuse to have them removed. Note how they have only become a symbol to some because those who wish them to go away have linked them as such...

Again I'm only saying that I was initially supportive of those (2, I think) states that have the confederate flag as part of the state flag re-brand in the name of progress, reconciliation and equality - help the south put it's slave owning past behind it!

Also I was thinking, even more than the symbology of white supremacy, even more than controlling the guns they use as weapons, the REAL issue here is the social-economic factors that are leading so many young white people to scapegoat black people and feel the need to 'strike a blow for the white race' or whatever because content, happy people don't go around playing the blame game - they have no reason to!
