Dragon_Claw: "And I think Gamasutra is a fine publication that has done enormously valuable work for game developers and game writers and by extension gamers themselves. They’re one of the best places to learn more about the video game industry, and one of the smartest game publications out there." Yeah, talking about the voice of Karl Reegar sucking a goat's dick is really smart.
At least somebody knew that the Forbes people come from another planet. That's it! I'm going to bed...
I think he's desperately trying to be neutral in a situation where he can't just let his personal views stay. Sometimes it bleeds out, I bet he probably has a friend or two that ended up working for Gamasutra and part of him is concerned about those friends, but his article itself is fairly objective. It doesn't bash us needlessly, but I think the writing is on the wall for a lot of people in the long run.
jefequeso: I don't actually know anything about Gamasutra, but it does seem wrong for everyone affiliated with the site to suffer because of the actions of one idiot.
How Public Relations does business is, if someone says something in even a semi-official position, then the company they work for/published it is to a degree responsible for that person's words. Gamasutra not saying or doing anything sends the message that they agree with what Leigh Alexander has said in her articles.
It's how we view it too. That's why people get fired for saying stupid shit and getting caught, because they make other people by association look terrible. It's also how advertisers do business as well, it's why some people will tow the line even though they know that it's wrong, because they will be fired to keep people from having the wrong view of a company or site.
