Dragon_Claw: Ladies and gentleman, may I present Nick Statt from CNET.

Jesus Christ! Don't these people know that they actions reflect poorly onto their companies.
I don't think they care. They've had a position as sensational journalists and people actually believe that they should be able to make the news as they want to, so they've got egos. I don't know what else to think.

Vestin: The latest news has been up for a few hours...

One of the things mentioned is Brad Wardell outlining a list of possible end-game goals. My favorites are severing all ties with Silverstring media and purging everyone responsible for the inflammatory, anti-gamer articles.
Let me also quote something that cannot be restated enough:
"Most game developers I’ve talked to about this issue cannot fathom why the gaming press would be attacking their own readership."
I can tell you that most of the people that are interested in "games", the "gamers', either dont care, or dont even know about this "attack" on them. They just continue to go to IGN, Kotaku, etc for their gaming for their most recent scoop on anything gaming. Those sites arent losing any readership now or anytime soon. I guess its because if you ask them, "Where else am i going to go?"

TullyFernado: Sad to see the reactionary (and terribly ironic) MRA back-slapping and conspiracy theories continue here.
Well, thank you for such a brilliant post filled with compelling arguments and factual proof. This certainly adds a lot to the discussion.

No... no, do not scare away the hate. Welcome it, savor it, bathe in it, swim in its dark, murky waters.

Today a post from TFYC. On The Last Kingmaker

TL,DR
"The last KingMakers left are the journalists, with such a giant market they have the ability to push eyeballs to your product. To use their audience to make your game a success or a failure. What #GamerGate is about, is the general public becoming aware of the backroom deals of the last kingmakers in the indie video game market. And showing how a small group of friends have a remarkable amount of pull over what get’s made and where it is discussed. Gaming journalism has responded by attempting to discredit the public. Which is an interesting strategy to say the least but has successfully avoided discussing the real issues."

Dragon_Claw: And finally, a picture that shows you the GG friendly sites and reviewers at this point in time. Like I said in an earlier post, also protest with your clicks/wallet. ;-)
Thanks for that! And for all your posts to keep lazybones like me up-to-date. ;)

Your welcome. And thanks for the list.

Mundane Matt has a new GG vlog.

And I nabbed a screenshot from Twitter (see attachment). It's speculation, but still good to keep in mind here in the near future...

So I guess 8chan got attacked, or something like that?

Neobr10: That's fucking awesome. I still don't like Intel as a company, but i have to say that they got a little bit of respect from me.
avatar
Dragon_Claw: And I just saw on twitter a couple of #Gamergate tweets that attacked Intel for "submitting to an anti-feminist movement!!!". One of them was from Blizzard's game director... He's probably still bonkers from their epic-fail Diablo 3 launch (Glad that I bought Torchlight instead). Clearly these people have not seen the diversity of Gamergate.

Plus somebody from PC Gamer retweetet a death threat to all Gamergate gamers, Mortal Kombat style. Glad I removed them from my bookmarks...
Shit's getting real.

I'm still not participating in Operation Disrespectful Nod, but I have to admit to taking a lot of grim satisfaction from seeing Intel pull their ads.

It's also baffling that journalists still don't understand that "poking the bear" is just keeping Gamergate going, not weakening it.

I did sent a thank you tweet to Intel for pulling their ads. It's the least a gamer can do. :D

And speaking of Twitter, there is no breaks on the crazy train!

Plus this morning I saw a conversation take place between Leigh Alexander and that "Gamers are worse then ISIS" guy. They were talking about Adam Baldwin giving blowjobs to goats... Classy. :S

Yeah, I saw that conversation. Ugh.

Professional game journalists and Pewdiepie fans: more similar than you might think.

Since the other thread is more for ongoing-debates, I'll post this new stuff about ZQ here:

TLDR: this is the (bad) work experience the female erotic photographer had with ZQ back in the days. Seems like ZQ should be crowned as the queen of drama queens.

I saw that post this morning. It just confirms my suspicion from the beginning, that Zoe is a sociopath! And should not be engaged in any way, but just be treatet as an irrelevant footnote in gaming history.

Also, Socks has her new video up.

Intel felt the need to make a public statement regarding their ad pull:

Chip Shot: Intel Issues Statement on Gamasutra Advertising
Posted by IntelPR in Intel Newsroom on Oct 3, 2014 5:28:31 PM

We take feedback from customers seriously. For the time being, Intel has decided not to continue with our current ad campaign on the gaming site Gamasutra. However, we recognize that our action inadvertently created a perception that we are somehow taking sides in an increasingly bitter debate in the gaming community. That was not our intent, and that is not the case. When it comes to our support of equality and women, we want to be very clear: Intel believes men and women should be treated the same. And, diversity is an integral part of our corporate strategy and vision with commitments to improve the diversity of our workforce. And while we respect the right of individuals to have their personal beliefs and values, Intel does not support any organization or movement that discriminates against women. We apologize and we are deeply sorry if we offended anyone.
