I'm not sure what you mean. 'Transphobia' as a term wasn't invented by people who were failing to refer to trans people by the gender they identify as; if anything, it's quite the opposite, referring to people who act like absolute cretins toward trans people, including people who, despite knowing what gender a trans person identifies as, proceed to refer to them by their birth gender. The position that you seem to be putting forward, unless I am seriously misreading it, is akin to suggesting that people who were squicked by gay people suddenly coined the term 'homophobia' to refer to the more asshole-ish of their own lot.

Interesting. I do hope they keep the site free of speculation or minor occurrences otherwise it will be all too easy to write off the site as being whimsical.

Sadly enough, there's a lot of indirect evidence of shady stuff going on - for example, the Dragon Age 2 review is infamous by now for receiving 95% from PC Gamer while it was a step back in nearly every sense compared to Dragon Age 1 which got a lower score! No-one believes that this wasn't do to some bribery or corruption but you can't prove it, can you?

Yeah, but some examples of corruption in journalism (Zoe Quinn related stuff) are collusion with Indie people and some examples (DA2, apparently and Shadows of Mordor, defiantly) is collusion with AAA - it always takes 2 to tango, even if AAA HAS got the Journos by the balls, in a lot of cases

big difference is that up to gg, indies basically got a "get out of jail free" card when it came to shady practices. When AAA, everyone raged, when an indie did it you were not allowed to even mention it. Anything was allowed if you were indie. Many do not not feel like everything is acceptable if you are an indie, that indies can't do anything wrong.

1) perhaps people do care about being correctly informed whether a game is a shitty piece of thrash or Montezuma's treasure
2) some people want games without ridiculous censor
3) games are being made, have patience

There's was always going to be a discussion about whether Steam could or should be selling hentai / porn games as it appears to be against their own Terms of Service, apparently. Turns out they can as long as they only turn 'full porn' after a patch - not sure why Steam even had that in its Terms of Service though - seems a bit prudish on their part really...

And finally, organising a boycott of the products of people you don't like isn't censorship either, it's affirmative action - I think Nestle are evil and (while I'm not religious about it) I try to avoid Nestle products as much as I can, if I went out of my way to preach about that and get other to do the same, I wouldn't feel like I was somehow 'censoring' Nestle - censoring an artist is making them change or edit their work, encouraging people not to buy it when it reaches market, artistic vision fully intact, is not!
