Do you really think this is an example of corruption in games journalism? That a writer mentions someone he dated is on a panel and discloses that he dated her? Your links hurt your arguments so much more than they help. Its this myopic approach to corruption in games journalism that really typifies the issues that so many people who have genuine concerns about issues in the gaming industry (AAA devs releasing broken games, not being held to account by writers, paying writers to advertise their product, putting pressure on websites market teams to give positive coverage, etc) have with #gg.

See, this is something I disagree with. Many people come to those events to just have a good time nerding around, you don't need to charge the event politically. Personally I would have preferred if they banned all political merchandise. So, no people running around in GG t-shirts, but also no people running around in Feminist Frequency t-shirts or anything like that.

You guys are using 'SJW', 'Feminist' and 'Anti-GG' interchangeably and while I admit there is zealotry in the SJW camp (it's maybe an age thing - I'm approaching 40 but people in their late teens and early 20s tend to see less shades of grey and are only too eager to sign up to a cause wholeheartedly - why do you think that we've convinced them to fight our wars for us throughout the whole of human history? But I digress...) and that the feminists use a lot of codified language that even I find a bit annoying and unhelpful but you miss the point that, if you take 'Anti-GG' to mean 'the views of people who think GG is a Bad Thing' then there's a very good argument to say that the consensus of popular opinion is Anti-GG!

A big part of that, as we keep telling you (although I'm not sure about the whole neck-snap thing) is that you guys are doing a shockingly bad PR job - the left-wing and liberal mainstream press is against you because they are the feminists and SJWs natural allies and because of course they are! On the other hand, the mainstream right-wing press isn't giving you much service because most of them are still off on a Jack Thompson 'Ban this sick filth' 'Think of the children' 'OMG Mass Effect is trying to make all of our kids GAY' tip.

Therefore, the first any casual observer in the street hears of #GG is as a misogynist hate movement and you pretty much have to convince every Joe and Jane Q Public and every con organiser individually that there's more to you than that, at this point at least

Did you not read the passionate and overwhelmingly GG-supporting comments on Colbert's facebook after he had Sarkeesian on and ran a piece misrepresenting GG? I can't find a picture of the latter, but I know one exists out there somewhere and saw it happen firsthand. Even when Time magazine put up a poll for "most influential people," didn't AS lose out big time despite making it in somehow? Who has the image problem, again?

I assure you, a movement that began as a campaign to drive a game developer into suicide — and is still at it! — really doesn't want game developers "to be left alone to make what they want". And I fail to even see the gamergate perspective in this respect. Y'know, I didn't ask any game developer to remove fan created content from his game, ever. But I'd rather do that than pulling off this kind of aggressive, developer attacking gamergate stuff. In the Obsidian incident, the actual developer's vision of the game was never even criticised — and still it must serve as gamergate's prime example of how SJW Untermensch outrage influences the games of our time.
