RWarehall: Like maybe how he was a Gamergater in Oct of 2012?
Yup, absolutely. Not by that name by then, but absolutely.

Look at it. Seriously, look at the fucking blog.

Quite a lot of gaters are 100% aware and in fact pushing the idea that their movement has started way before they took up Baldwin's slutshaming tweet as their label. The blogger in question is the perfect example, the perfect progression from straight out making up crap about Anita Sarkeesian in 2012, without ever modifying or correcting his crap, right to his continuous brilliantly stupid gamergater articles in 2015.

Again, guys. Look at the fucking blog. You can do it, you have eyes.

And that petition is hilarious. EA says it's bullshit, and the petitioner backpedals in the comments. If the petition itself was started in good faith on incorrect information, it is the reaction after EA's comment that makes abundantly clear what kind of love for truth the petitioner stands for:

Petition:

Remove Anita Sarkeesian from Mirror's Edge 2 game development.

We the undersigned are presenting our names in solidarity against the decision of EA Games and DICE to include Anita Sarkeesian in any aspect of the game development of Mirror's Edge 2.
Backpedaling:

Now that we're over halfway to our goal, we would like to reiterate and clarify our intentions regarding this petition. We are aware that Ms. Sarkeesian is not a paid spokesperson or employee of any game development company. This petition arose primarily out of a concern that industry professionals (and the media at large.) are regarding this self proclaimed ambassador's personal opinions and poisonous rhetoric as a credible source and representation of the gamers she claims to speak for.
It is a petition founded on made up crap that doesn't even have the decency to shut down when its supposed raison d'etre has proven to be a fantasy.

you know, I've heard that slut shaming shit over and over and lemme tell you something.

It was not about how many people she slept with. NO ONE gives a shit about that. It was about WHO.

Do you even conflict of interest? People are constantly cheating on each other and sleeping with a dozen people at a time, yet we don't cause a shitstorm about every single one do we?

A few years ago there was this shitstorm in my country surrounding someone with a high position with the police. It was not because he was cheating with another woman, but because he gave said woman multiple promotions shortly after.

Between August and October 25th, 732 tweets with the gamergate hashtag threw hateful crap at Nathan Grayson, supposed corrupt journalist.

10,400 such tweets were directed at Zoe Quinn.

Who, opposed to Grayson, really didn't experience that kind of crap for the first time.

Sorry, really, sorry, I would have loved for this to be about anything else, but it's about slutshaming.

Vainamoinen: snip
Yeah, paint everyone with one brush. Accuse people of being in a movement 2 years before it started. Accuse all people in said movement of harassing and doxxing. Of course that give the right to many who agree with you to harass and doxx in retaliation. Whatever you say is right no matter how stupid or wrong it really is.

I read. I read 2012 and I read you claiming it was made up by Gamergate 2 years before it was formed.

Yup, if the arguments sound like Gamergate we can just dismiss them is misogynist rantings. Get over your self!

And what did I say about anti-GG being able to read minds!

It's also amazing how this was about slutshaming 2 years before Zoe was called out and before she had allegedly slept with any of them. Funny how you think it works both ways...

May 17th, 2012 probably wasn't even the start of the 'movement', that crap began way earlier.
But that date certainly belongs in gamergate history. Oh fucking hell it belongs there.

The blogger you mistook for a journalist is a gater, plain and simple.

It's just that today he took up the label he didn't have back in 2012.

14 sites post the same article at the same time so they are probably linked = rambling insane conspiracy theorists.

the idea that all men by their very nature are keeping women down by giving them whatever they ask for

added: And goes out to do some some rapin' if they think the women are getting to0 brave

yeah, that's a head scratcher =P

but is it a conspiracy theory if the enemy tell you what they are setting out to do?

Maybe we need an academic to tell us. After all; all males are sons of the patriarchy at the end of the day; and must be converted before they can used...er can live by good moral standards.
