what i want to say is, when gg mildly implies something negative, no matter how indirect, it is taken as proof we all utterly hate any and all minorities.

When tim schafer not just mildly but clearly implies that there are no minorities within gg and denies they even exist, it is perfectly ok.

and here's the thing: if he had just insulted gg, noone would have given a fuck. Noone. but attacking the minorities within gg, the group you claim hates all minorities is just downright hypocritic.

Did he even imply that though? That there are NO women and minorities within GG? Or did he simply imply that the RANKS of women and minorities within GG may be artificially augmented and swelled by a number of duplicate and dummy accounts?
*shrugs* that might be a little paranoid and conspiracy theorist on Timmy's part but that's just a symptom of the anonymity that the internet affords.
In any case, to say that there are NO women in GG would be really dumb in a world where schoolgirls are running off to join ISIS!

but what created the "gg is the devil" stuff? Its simple: gg was for ethics and against gender politics (which is: main char is a white man=>game is racist and sexist+there are female enemies? its a rape and abuse promotion).

a bunch of morons, which the internet has plenty, decided to fuck shit up and sent those death threats.

the criticized games media jumped on the occasion to generalize the entirety of GG as sexist semi-terrorists to scare the public so noone would listen to gg.
Sark and Wu played professional victim, earning them tons of dosh. They stated that the only reason they received threats was because they were women, even though everyone known by more than a million gets death threats eventually.

meanwhile the media continued the fear and hate mongering. Media and sark will keep more females out of gaming than gamers ever will.

This gave Sark the power to dismiss any and all criticism as harassment.
Even though people hate her male producer, Jonathan "full" mcintosh even far more.

Since then pro-gg have received more harassment and threats than anyone else.
problem here is that gg fights concepts (corruption and gander politic) while antigg fights people. And anyone daring to somewhat associate with anyone within gg is a devil, and should be gassed.
Anything touched by gg is corruped by the devil himself

what we mean is that a designer can create his character how he likes. That including a female enemy is not "promoting a rape culture" that a male lead with a female companion is NOT "objectifying the female so they don't see women as people."

the message of modern media is "You MUST have at least this many gay, this many female and this many foreign people in your game. Alter your vision to be the same as ours".

We welcome more diverse characters, but do not hate on something for not having them

Uhm... i think you have gg and antigg mixed up.

anti gg are being the internet police and anyone saying anything that can be 1% offensive to one group has to be flamed and accused of hating that group.

GG on the other hand wants to have fair reviews so reviews are an indication of how good a game is and not how much the reviewer was paid or who his friends are.

in other circuits this sounds obvious but in games media you are a sexist if you suggest there is corruption
